Data Warehouse Analyst, Assurant-GCC, India

This position will be Remote at our India location.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Create and maintain repository of data governance policies, procedures, and standards with appropriate version control.
  • Support Data Team and Data Warehouse Manager while onboarding new data products and provide governance support during operationalization.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to document data lineage/data flows.
  • Provide guidance and assist in capturing business glossary/data dictionary and metadata lineage information.
  • Assist in data reconciliation and validation checks across data systems.
  • Create initial proof of concepts for data that needs to be merged from multiple systems and define the business benefits of moving towards a consolidated source.
  • Act as point of collaboration between business and IT to ensure quality data.
  • Assist in documenting data lineage/data flows.
  • Assist in capturing business glossary/data dictionary and metadata lineage information.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Management Master in Business Administration /IT, or related field.
  • Experience in data governance, data management, or similar data-focused roles.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, identifying gaps, estimating, implementation, test planning and execution, and UAT definition and execution crucial.
  • Preferred experience in the insurance industry required.

What other the Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge?

  • Knowledge of data governance methodology and how to document data quality exceptions.
  • Proven ability in reviewing and implementing data controls.
  • Background in measuring and assessing data quality to identify and remediate data control gaps.
  • A passion for using data and technology to understand the real world and drive change with a focus on the importance of data quality.
  • Understanding of SQL, Excel/BI skills with a focus on data analysis, knowledge in Python programming language a plus
  • Familiarity with data governance tools and software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally interact with team members in other departments.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Proven ability to be adaptable and flexible; able to adjust to new requirements or unforeseen issues.
  • Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
