Business Systems Analyst, Assurant-GCC, India
This job is responsible for contributing a high level of expertise in business requirements and solution design. On projects of various complexity, the position participates in activities such as requirement definition, requirements analysis, solution design, testing, training and documentation. Also responsible for data analytical and profiling functions and creation of technical requirement documents.
This position will be Remote at our India location.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Acts as the customer/IT liaison during analysis, requirements definition and design activities; with business stakeholders to define and document business requirements, and with technical staff to develop solution alternatives. (10%)
- Participates in the project management process; understands and applies the system development methodology; contributes to project deliverables including vision documents, status reports, and project risk; and, communicates status, business impacts and system changes to team members, business partners, sponsors, management and other interested parties; coordinates issues, tracking and resolution on high level, complex projects. (15%)
- Coordinates and participates in testing activities for maintenance and project assignments; provides guidance for testing strategies, scope and scenarios; reviews and provides advice for testing-related estimates of effort, duration and resource utilization; prepares and reviews test plans; identifies testing risks and contributes to the overall management of project and risk plans; coordinates, manages and participates in complex testing efforts; perform data profiling and analytical tasks using Microsoft SQL Server. (40%)
- Provides general customer and IT support for assigned business applications; works with business and technical staff to perform effective root-cause analysis and resolution. Gathers, compiles, interprets and summarizes systems and business process changes; maintains data warehouse system support tables. (15%)
- Develops moderate to complex reports and dashboards using MS Reporting Services and Tableau. Develop Microsoft SSIS OLAP cubes based on business requirements. Create stored procedures and queries for reporting suing Microsoft TSQL. (20%)
What are the requirements needed for this position?
- 4 years working with business users and stakeholders on business requirements and technical documentation and systems analytics that include experience building complex SQL and procedures using Microsoft SQL Server (Y-SQL) 2005 or higher
- 2 years of experience with MS Reporting Services
- 2 years of experience with Tableau or other dashboard tool.
- Proficient with SQL and T-SQL, temp tables, procedures, etc.
What other the Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, preferred
- Experience working with large databases over 20TB – data warehouse experience preferred
- Experience with any of the following: MS Analysis Services, MS PerformancePoint Server, MS SharePoint Server, TFS or other BI tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Aptitude in logical and analytical thinking with strong problem-solving skills
- Experience in a project management role
- Experience in working in a team environment
- Experience with Web Services, SharePoint Development a plus.
