This remote role is not tightly linked to a physical location and provides flexibility in where, when and how you accomplish your work. Job Summary

Harley-Davidson is looking for a proven customer-first marketing leader with exceptional marketing skills and broad experience to lead the North America Marketing team in the successful deployment and activation of the Harley-Davidson brand across the US and Canada.

The Director of Marketing reports to the VP of North America with a dotted-line relationship to the VP of Marketing and is responsible for providing leadership to the North American Marketing organization and working collaboratively within a matrix environment. You will be responsible for demand driven marketing and retail execution of the North America plan; supporting customer-led strategies that significantly improve Harley-Davidson’s reach and relevance across NA markets, resulting in delivering the sales targets for the entire NA business, increased desirability of the brand, creation of new riders, and the development of our customer base.

The Director of Marketing will provide leadership to the NA Marketing team with a customer first mentality and will work collaboratively with the matrix Marketing Centers of Excellence: Digital, Brand, Harley-Davidson Financial Services Marketing, and the H-D Museum. This role will integrate and work closely with the Sales teams to ensure maximum success in the marketplace with appropriate marketing actions. They will be expected to provide leadership direction and support to the NA marketing team to create demand to achieve retail growth goals (Retail Marketing), lead US and Canada-based demand programs, and provide leadership for Go-to-Market activities within the NA market.
This role will require approximately 20% travel time and working hours will have to be flexible due to the scope of the market covered.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting customer-led strategies that significantly improve Harley Davidson’s reach, relevance and demand across markets, resulting delivering in achieving sales targets across product categories, creation of new riders, and the development of our customer base
    • Interface with various parts of the business to drive effective marketing campaigns focused on demand generation and dealer traffic
    • Partner with global Marketing leaders to deliver Retail, Brand & Digital strategy, direction, and execution - reviewing performance against KPIs around brand awareness and engagement
    • Develop and lead a cohesive marketing and engagement plan while working with multiple stakeholders
    • Utilize strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills to manage feedback from both internal and external stakeholders
    • Evaluate & report on marketing activity and metrics within NA, leveraging a set of key performance indicators.
    • Develop real-time reporting that measure the impact of our targeted marketing programs which can be used to adjust content and/or technology to maximize their impact.
    • Manage the regional marketing budget across marketing channels for maximum impact (traffic generation) and results (sales).
    • Drive and develop digital marketing capabilities and programs to reach through the customer journey.
    • Lead the NA marketing organization, developing capability of the marketing team and ensuring the Harley-Davidson brand strategy and seasonal plans are well understood and adopted

Experience Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will possess a successful US Marketing career track record over 12+ years with a motorcycle manufacturer, passenger car manufacturer, and/or another blue chip high-value B2C brand with a franchised distribution, sales and service network Comprehensive breadth and depth of marketing and communications knowledge and skills, including a good understanding and appreciation of new media and digital communications
    • Demonstrated results in managing multiple marketing channels, media execution, digital marketing and CRM strategies to generate response/traffic and sales
    • A proven track record of achievement - delivering results and achieving on-time and on-budget delivery
    • A strong grasp of financial performance and overall business operations
    • Highly effective collaboration, communication, leadership, and facilitation skills in a diverse matrix environment
    • Knowledge and appreciation for the Harley-Davidson brand and products

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
