POSITION SUMMARY

The Technical Sales Director, Dynamic Power is responsible for supporting the GSA account teams with technical solutions, analysis and proposals for GSA and other key customer projects to enable Vertiv to become the basis of design and win Dynamic Power solutions. It is expected this role will interface with the appropriate Vertiv Offering Management or Design teams to provide the not only ensure compliance with project proposals but to provide input as to customer needs into the business. Interface with customers and the Consulting Engineering community to share technical knowledge around Vertiv products. This role will build out the team and provide mentorship and guidance to a team of application engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the Technical Sales space with all things related to Dynamic Power – develop strategy, planning and response to business needs.
  • Present to Customers, Consulting Engineers and Industry Conferences Vertiv Dynamic Power Solutions that include the UPS as a DER (Dynamic Energy Resource), long duration batteries including BESS, fuel cells (FC) and any other local energy generation technologies that come along (like linear generators and SMRs).
  • Develop complete systems solutions with customers to meet their requirements and identify any customization that may be required.
  • Work with Bid Teams, Sales Offices and Account teams to analyse technical specifications and review product submittals ensuring that Vertiv products meet the customer design intent.
  • Provide technical response to customers and/or consultants that include energy storage and FC sizing, TCO analysis, one-line/systems drawing review, sequence of operation, and similar requirements.
  • Provide technical analysis of internal and competitive options for customer bids with full understanding of competitive offers being made to the customer.
  • Work with Vertiv Offering and Design Management teams to feedback customer requirements and needs to improve the product offering.
  • Understand the control and operation of all Vertiv UPS, PDU/Switching, and busway products.

QUALIFICATIONS – REQUIRED

  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years prior experience with Dynamic Power equipment including UPS, long duration batteries including BESS, fuel cells (FC)
  • Prior management of people
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a matrix management environment.
  • A high degree of creativity and independent judgement
  • The ability to think and act strategically, utilizing account plans to set specific account objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS – PREFERRED

  • Familiarity with Vertiv AC power offerings
  • Generator experience
  • Local energy generation Control and Operations for Data Center applications
  • Service experience with knowledge of electrical distribution systems and critical space environments

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience

The anticipated salary range for this role in the NYC, CO, WA, CT and CA locality is between $160k to $207k per year salary ranges for other geographic localities may vary. The role is eligible for a 30% Sales Incentive which pays, Monthly. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance and are role based. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role. The role is eligible to participate in a comprehensive and competitive benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, disability, PTO, holiday pay, and 401k. Additional details about total compensation and benefits will be provided during the hiring process.
