Job Title: Estimator - High-End Residential Construction
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm Sydney Time with 1 hour unpaid lunch Overview:Join our design and construction company on the South Coast of NSW, specializing in high-end residential homes. As an Estimator, you’ll play a key role in transforming concepts into reality by producing accurate estimates, proposals, and construction drawings. You’ll work with a small, dedicated team to deliver exceptional results for clients, primarily retirees seeking custom-built, multi-million dollar homes. This role offers a chance to impact project success, drive business growth, and refine our estimating processes for a smooth project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
3D Modeling and Initial Estimates
- Develop 3D models in Sketchup with Plusspec to visualize design concepts.
- Perform takeoffs and preliminary estimates in ProCalc for early-stage discussions.
- Provide Quick Ballpark Estimates (QBE) post-concept stage for client budgeting.

Detailed Estimating and Proposal Development
- Create comprehensive estimates using WonderBuild, including takeoffs and labor costs.
- Produce construction drawings and markup plans aligned with subcontractor quotes.
- Generate shop drawings for construction teams to ensure project specifications.

Labor and Material Costing
- Use multi-method labor costing through Plusspec, internal spreadsheets, and project assessments.
- Maintain an updated price book with local supplier costs.

Process Management and Optimization
- Streamline estimating workflows in Sketchup and Plusspec to improve efficiency.
- Work with the design team to ensure estimates align with design choices.

Collaboration and Client Support
- Collaborate with designers, site staff, and subcontractors from project concept to completion.
- Support client presentations with impactful 3D models.

- Operational Efficiency: Reduce estimating time by 30% and complete 20 estimates monthly.
- Financial Accuracy: Maintain profit margins within 2% of initial estimates on 90% of projects.
- Client Support and Growth: Generate 15 Quick Ballpark Estimates monthly to support sales.
Requirements
- Technical Skills: Advanced in Sketchup with Plusspec, ProCalc, WonderBuild.
- Construction Knowledge: Deep understanding of NSW residential construction practices and regulations.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy in estimates and drawings.
- Communication and Teamwork: Clear communication skills; familiarity with Slack and High Level.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, meeting deadlines with precision.
