Job Description

Our Home is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Fixed Asset Manager to join our team. As the Fixed Asset Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the management and tracking of the company's fixed assets throughout their lifecycle. This role requires strong analytical skills, people management skills, knowledge of accounting principles, and experience working with a manufacturing organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a robust system of controls, procedures, and forms to accurately record fixed assets
  • Oversee all processes related to the tracking, controlling, and disposal of the company’s fixed assets
  • Establishes and maintain records and procedures necessary for the accountability of property and equipment inventory
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert & point of escalation for the department and for internal teams on Fixed Asset related matters
  • Assign unique tag numbers to all fixed assets for easy identification and tracking
  • Record the acquisition and disposal of fixed assets in our state-of-the-art accounting system
  • Ensure accurate compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out these accounts upon project completion
  • Regularly reconcile the detailed fixed asset subsidiary ledger with the summary-level account in the general ledger
  • Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets in compliance with applicable accounting standards
  • Actively investigate any potential obsolescence of fixed assets and propose appropriate actions
  • Regularly conduct impairment reviews for intangible assets
  • Perform periodic physical counts of fixed assets to ensure accuracy and prevent inaccuracies
  • Efficiently analyze fixed asset data as requested by management to support decision-making
  • Preparation of audit schedules related to fixed assets and provide support to auditors during their inquiries
  • Preparation of property tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Serve as a trustworthy representative of the company during any government audits that involve fixed assets
  • Thoroughly monitor company expenditures for fixed assets, comparing them to the capital budget and management authorizations
  • Lead or Assist with hiring, separation, and employee improvement plans
  • Lead and develop direct reports with effective coaching and guidance as necessary
  • Assist management in various other areas as required to maintain smooth operations

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting
  • Prior manufacturing experience
  • Prior fixed asset management experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Understanding of accounting rules and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with spreadsheets
  • Ability to work independently
  • Prior experience with Fixed Asset Management Software – NetSuite preferred
  • Travel to plant locations 30% (possibly higher in the beginning
