The Role We are looking for a freelance Head of SEO with a strong strategic vision to take full responsibility for our organic growth. Beyond day-to-day execution, you will be the driving force behind our search engine performance. The goal is clear: to move beyond a “traffic for traffic’s sake” mindset and drive revenue growth through a structured, data-driven SEO strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development: Develop and lead the overall SEO strategy (technical, on-page, and off-page), aligned with the 2026 business objectives.
Technical Excellence: Conduct in-depth audits (Core Web Vitals, crawlability, indexing) and collaborate closely with technical teams to ensure an optimal SEO foundation.
Content Strategy: Oversee the development of topical authority by going beyond keywords, using search intent clusters and content aligned with EEAT principles.
AI Integration: Implement AI-assisted workflows to scale operations (content briefs, data analysis, internal linking), while adhering to “Helpful Content” guidelines.
Performance Tracking: Manage the SEO budget and produce reports for senior management (organic ROI, share of voice, conversion attribution).
Management: Supervise and support in-house writers or external agencies to ensure high-quality, SEO-optimized deliverables.
Desired Profile
Senior experience: Minimum 6 years of SEO experience, with proven results on high-authority websites (SaaS, e-commerce, or media).
Tool proficiency: Excellent knowledge of Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, or Semrush, as well as Search Console Insights.
Product mindset: You approach SEO as a product in its own right, understanding the interactions between user experience (UX) and SEO performance.
Business mindset: You think in terms of revenue and LTV (Lifetime Value), not just in terms of rankings or traffic.
How to Apply
Case Study: A specific example of a website you grew from X€ to Y€ in organic revenue.
The “First 30 Days”: An overview of your audit methodology when taking on a new domain.
Tools: Your preferred technology stack for SEO in 2026.
