As infrastructure SME you will have the exciting responsibility of strategising and coordinating the implementation of infrastructure components for projects in both data centers and substations, collaborating closely with Value Stream and Delivery Leads. The successful candidate will develop concise roadmaps for the infrastructure aspects of the program, taking ownership of identifying project dependencies. Being well-versed in cutting-edge virtualisation solutions and the underlying hardware platforms is a must. Additionally, the ideal candidate will provide valuable insights and recommendations on various infrastructure and platform technologies, including keeping an eye on emerging cloud technologies.

Location: Remote , Aberdeen , UK.

Requirements

  • Act as an SME for IT infrastructure delivery in support of ongoing project activities
  • Provide SME knowledge and design engineering that leads to the creation of high-quality project delivery
  • Working with Operations and Security Operations teams, vendors, project team and wider business to deliver well designed solutions that meet project requirements.
  • Liaison and engagement with 3rd party vendors
  • Producing and completing high level and low-level solution designs in line with company architecture and strategy
  • Identify divergences from best practice within projects and lead resolution processes
  • Installation, configuration, administration, support, maintenance and troubleshooting of project solutions prior to production deployment
  • Ensure timely and accurate testing prior to deployment
  • Engagement with support groups to ensure successful technical go-live and hand over to support
  • Use change management processes to prevent unplanned production disruptions and outages
  • Be innovative, pragmatic and enthusiastic to ensure safe, secure and reliable project delivery

Sector & business experience:

  • IT/IS oil and gas experience
  • Operational Technology environments an advantage

Professional skills:

  • Ability to act proactively, escalating as required
  • Strong documentation/communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge and experience of IT change management processes and principles
  • ITIL Foundation (or better) desirable
