Job Description

We are currently seeking an Attorney with experience on health insurance claims and disputes to work with a leading integrated healthcare organization on payor related disputes and regulatory issues. Ideal candidates will have experience working in-house with a large health insurance company or established integrated health system.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as subject matter expert for queries, appeals, disputes, and claims arising from payment issues for health plan with particular emphasis on California based claims arising from government payor programs.
  • Provide legal counsel to internal business teams on health plan related payment issues to mitigate risk and drive compliance with state and federal regulations and industry best practices.
  • Manage outside counsel, conduct legal research and assist on special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience with health plan administrative law including particular experience handling California-specific matters.
  • Experience working for a major health system or in-house with a health insurance company with direct claims and disputes experience.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of disputes and claims with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across internal business units.

Compensation, Benefits & Location:

This role offers a range of competitive compensation starting at $160,000+ and a highly competitive benefits package in the alternative legal services marketplace that includes health benefits, 401K and more.
