This role involves setting up new data center hardware according to traffic loads and key performance indicators (KPIs), as well as managing hardware and software license renewals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hardware architecture, data center operations, and IT asset management.
What You'll Do
- Design and Implementation:
- Plan and design hardware setups for new data centers based on expected traffic loads, business requirements, and KPIs.
- Generate a formal BOM (Build of Materials) for new setups and process to execution
- Collaborate with network and systems teams to ensure the optimal configuration and integration of hardware components.
- Supervise the installation and configuration of servers, storage systems, and networking equipment.
- License and Asset Management:
- Manage the procurement, renewal, and compliance of hardware and software licenses.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of data center hardware assets, including serial numbers, warranty status, and lifecycle management.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for data center hardware configurations, installations, and upgrades.
- Provide regular reports on data center performance, capacity planning, and hardware lifecycle status.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with the IT team, vendors, and external partners to ensure seamless integration and support of data center hardware.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware-related issues during setup onboarding process
What We're Looking For
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data center hardware management or a similar role.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of server, storage, and networking hardware.
- Experience with hardware lifecycle management and IT asset management tools.
- Familiarity with data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
