This is a remote position.
Schedule:40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am-6pm Roslyn, NY Time; includes 1 hr unpaid break
Responsibilities:- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to computers, servers, networks, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Provide phone support for technical inquiries, ensuring clear communication and resolution.
- Install, configure, and update software, applications, and operating systems.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and passwords across various systems and platforms.
- Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of virtual machines, cloud services, and VPN connections.
- Monitor system performance and security, ensuring proper virus protection and regular backups.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical requirements and ensure seamless operation of IT resources.
- Provide technical guidance and training to end-users on new applications and systems.
- Maintain documentation of IT assets, procedures, and issues for future reference.
- Assist in maintaining data integrity through regular system updates and patches.
- Stay current on emerging technology trends and security practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist, Help Desk Technician, or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and virtual environments.
- Experience with network administration and troubleshooting (e.g., LAN/WAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP).
- Solid understanding of hardware, software, and peripheral troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues in layman’s terms.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
