Your opportunity

The Lead Business Intelligence Developer & Insights Analyst will be responsible for developing and managing end-to-end business intelligence solutions which improve organizational performance in our existing and targeted markets. They will play a pivotal role in aligning BI initiatives with organizational goals, communicating effectively with stakeholders, and driving data-driven decision-making at all levels of the Vytalize organization. With extensive expertise in data manipulation, data visualizations, and BI tools, they provide technical guidance to the team and model best practices. Beyond technical proficiency, a Lead Business Intelligence Developer & Insights Analyst demonstrates the ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships within domain and consistently deliver high-quality solutions while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

What you will do

  • Proactively schedules and leads requirement gathering sessions. Applies experience developing business requirements and translating them to technical specifications. - Collaborates with peers, cross-functional team members, and customers during development life cycle of projects: Establishes team calls, supports delegation of tasks to team members, and fosters a culture dedicated to excellence in delivering BI products.
  • Develops and improves SQL coding and BI Development standards across the Analytics-BI team: Applies vast knowledge of SQL optimization, deployment and orchestration of code sets, and automation tools. Identifies and implements best-practices. Mentors team members to do the same.
  • Applies experience implementing quality assurance for automated dashboard refresh and maintenance.
  • Applies expertise in BI and insights to identify innovative solutions that improve the quality of BI processes and products: identify trends, patterns, and insights to drive business performance improvements.
  • Independently leads BI projects from end-to-end: Establishes scope and requirements, develops workplan that includes milestones and delivery dates, able to manage to timelines while proactively communicating risks to stakeholders.
  • Supports product training and adoption after delivery to help educate users and enable customer success: Leads facilitation of literacy throughout the organization by partnering with stakeholders and ensuring the adoption of deployed BI tools.
  • Consistently communicates organizational performance to senior leaders utilizing appropriate resources and clarifying feedback - Champions a strong BI presence at Vytalize
  • SME of relevant domain (PopHealth, Finance, Network, etc.)
  • Connects technical + business partners for efficiency
  • Demonstrates a leadership mindset amongst team

What will make you successful here

  • Master’s degree preferred / equivalent experience in healthcare analytics related fields or related work experience
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, analytics engineering, or medical economics developing interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that effectively communicate actionable data-driven insights.
  • 2+ years demonstrated understanding of complex health care data such as claims, electronic health records, eligibility data.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated proficiency utilizing BI/reporting tools such as Looker, Qlik, Tableau, etc. (although Tableau is strongly preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 year mentoring team members: serving as a technical SME and providing recommendations to improve team skills
  • 5+ years effectively utilizing advanced data management and manipulation skills including strong SQL programming skills deployment and orchestration of code sets, or other automated ETL processes.
  • Advanced experience documenting BI solutions, including complex data models, ETL processes to integrate disparate data, and dashboard features and functionality
  • Proficiency with dbt and/or statistical analysis software (Python, R, etc.) preferred
