Your Opportunity

The Library Services Engineer (LSE a.k.a. Sales Engineer) is the primary technical resource for the field sales force on EBSCO FOLIO and EBSCO Software as a Service (SaaS) products. As an LSE, you are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, as well as working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate. This position serves as the primary escalation point for support to troubleshoot exceptional issues, often resulting in direct contact with customers or other development teams. You will work directly with internal development teams to coordinate high level code projects, as well as provide troubleshooting and support for LSEs in the field.

This remote position is U.S.-based only (excluding U.S. territories)

What You’ll Do

  • Support the Field Team by troubleshooting and/or developing integrations with the EBSCO Discovery Service, FOLIO, or other adjacent projects
  • Serve as a friendly, approachable, and authoritative resource for high level technical questions and information to both internal teams and external customers
  • Serve as the escalation point for issues involving various integrations and custom built applications, as well as high level troubleshooting of the Discovery Service and other products
  • Develop new and custom integrations as part of the Professional Services flow
  • Interface directly with customers through online meetings, email, or other communication to help troubleshoot issues or develop custom applications
  • Work collaboratively across global teams in Field Engineering and Product Management
  • Develop creative solutions for high level internal stakeholders requiring specialized development and problem solving

Your Team

You will be welcomed as a member of the North American Library Services Engineering Team, a team of about 12 people. About You

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in either Systems Librarianship, Digital Services Management, or a Library Systems adjacent field
  • 2+ years of experience and excellence in presenting as well as written communication describing details for technology, Internet, or software application products to internal and external audiences and various levels of management
  • Experience developing web applications within the Library environment in JavaScript, HTML, CSS

What sets you apart

  • MLIS degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience managing discovery systems, link resolvers, and/or integrated library systems
  • 2+ years of experience administrating EBSCO interfaces, including EBSCO Discovery Service, EBSCOHost, and others
  • Experience with any of the following languages: Python, PHP, Visual Basic, Perl, Java Springboot, Ruby, ES6, React, Node, and other modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Experience working with a Source Control service (GitHub or equivalent)
  • Experience working with FOLIO, either at a library or in the broader FOLIO Community

Target Annual Compensation Range: $66,530 - $95,040. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location.
