JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State University Press (PSUP) is seeking a Part-time Publicity and Communications Specialist. This role reports in to the Director of Sales and Marketing and is an integral part of the overall sales and marketing department. Role location:

Fully remote/Hybrid

8-12 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Mange all publicity facets, targeting, and coordination for the Press’s trade book program.
  • Sales support/sales analytics: develop sales target customer lists; retrieve inventory and title reports via vendor portals; provide data analysis for the Press’s book distribution partners; oversight of low inventory communications.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Marketing Director on tasks related to publicity efforts.

Job Requirements

A high school diploma or its equivalent; two years of administrative and/or sales/publicity experience; Excel familiarity; excellent organizational, proofreading, analytical, and written and oral communication skills; attention to detail; self-motivation; and ability to multitask and adhere to strict budgets and schedules.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
