What you will be doing in the role of a Product Manager for Community Development Programs:

Susan G. Komen uses several platforms for Community Development programs focusing on Peer-to-Peer, Specialty Fundraising Events, and other fundraising/community development initiatives. Your customers are internal stakeholders and collaboration with Program Managers, Project Managers, and Platform Administrators/Engineers plays a key role as your efforts will support their ongoing efforts. This position will drive the RFP process to assist in vetting new products and services if new tools are required/requested.

The Community Development Product Manager reports to the Director of Product Management.

What you will bring to the table:

  • Partner with key stakeholders to establish the product vision, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the product team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align product considerations with the overall vision, features, and roadmap.
  • Leverage customer insights, feedback, financials, compliance, and risk data to define product features and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with staff and external partners to create and maintain key product documentation, including customer journey map, process mapping, user stories, etc.
  • Identify and define key non-functional requirements (e.g. security, availability, performance) to achieve the organizational review growth.
  • Build and prioritize product backlog to achieve OKRs.
  • Continuously update the backlog through meetings with stakeholders and the product team.
  • Ensure product adherence to high-quality standards.
  • Define functional and non-functional product requirements for the IT team.
  • Validate user story acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with data stewards to ensure data quality controls are implemented.
  • Manage dependencies with cross-functional teams while identifying and building strategic partnerships.
  • Regularly participate in product meetings and communicate with stakeholders to align goals and vision.
  • Actively participate in implementing changes, such as creating reports and providing training and documentation.
  • Contribute to optimizing business processes and the effective use of solutions to meet company objectives.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for collaborating with stakeholders, presenting ideas, and documenting product requirements.
  • The ability to adapt and iterate to changing priorities, requirements, and organizational needs is crucial.
  • Understanding the needs of users, stakeholders, and team members is essential for creating user-centric solutions.
  • Working effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and business leaders, is vital.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are necessary for addressing complex challenges.
  • Inspiring and motivating key stakeholders toward a common goal is key to success.
  • Proven experience as a Product Manager, preferably in a non-profit or community-focused organization.
  • Proficiency in product management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana) for backlog management and collaboration.
  • Understanding of software development processes (e.g., Agile, Kanban).
  • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools to track product performance.
  • Experience working with and integrating with CRM, Email & Reporting platforms is a plus.
  • Creative and strategic thinking.
  • Attention to detail.
  • At least 5 Years of experience as a Product Manager, or other equivalent positions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

We would love if you also have:

  • Solid understanding of peer-to-peer fundraising, volunteerism, digital marketing, and other non-profit and fundraising business solutions from a National or Regional approach.
  • Experience with the fundraising platforms: BlackBaud TeamRaiser/Luminate Online, Give Smart, OneCause, Salesforce CRM, WordPress, etc.
  • Direct experience managing online strategy and implementation.
  • Travel requirements required outside of your home office will be based on our business needs (usually less than 2 times a year).

Approximate salary $85,000 to $120,000/annual, exact compensation ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job level, internal equity and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's skills, experience and geographic location.
