Project Manager: ERP - Contractor

Kaizen Analytix LLC, an analytics services company, is seeking a qualified Project Manager with responsibility to be Manager of Financial System to design, develop and oversee the operation and maintenance of an Accounting organization's various systems. Responsibilities and job requirements are below. This role requires an estimated 40 hours/week commitment for approximately 6 months.

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, executing, and overseeing the successful completion of the project relating to ERP implementation, while managing resources, schedules, budgets, and stakeholders.

  • Manage core delivery teams of Kaizen and non-Kaizen (clients, third parties) resources that possess technology, cloud, and data science skill sets
  • Manage and prioritize projects based on resource availability and timelines as well as day to day run type activities such as platform incidents, requests, changes, and problems
  • Manage multiple work streams from acquisition and planning through successful delivery 
  • Manage financial system designs, develops and oversees the operation and maintenance of the Accounting organization's various systems
  • Develop an understanding of accounting processes within Aderant and/or Elite and how accounting systems work with each other and other systems at Aderant and/or Elite
  • Develop and maintain an accounting systems road map highlighting the systems enhancements being pursued
  • Contribute to cross-functional teams in the implementation, maintenance, and support of the billing and accounting platform through business requirement discovery and analysis, software installation, software upgrades, software configuration, data migration, data integration, training, and end-user support
  • Act as a liaison with third party vendors to troubleshoot systems
  • Work with SQL databases to create reports and stored procedures
  • Understand technology environments and analytics solutions: current state, problem, goals/objectives and their business value, obstacles, and impacted client constituents
  • Rigorously manage requirements through the project lifecycle by establishing and maintaining agreements between technical client constituents and core delivery team (project domain), ensuring source control, change control and development best practices are followed
  • Ensure requirements are specified in a manner suitable for intended audience and are understandable, unambiguous, and capable of being implemented and tested
  • Facilitate a critical communications role by interacting with core delivery team members (project domain), and development personnel (technical domain)
  • Ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders, and turn business needs into technical requirements
  • Ability to identify technical project risks and support risk resolution
  • Ability to understand the technical and functionals goals of a release or sprint, not just as a function as a project administrator
  • Drive procedures and methodologies to ensure requirements have been implemented successfully 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field
  • Experience: At least 6 years of experience in project management, computer science, cloud technology, or related disciplines; Experience in programming, software engineering, testing / quality assurance
    • Detailed understanding of accounting standards, methodologies and related business practices
    • 5+ years experience managing / administering ERP software in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment
    • Preferred: 3+ years in a client-facing, consulting role for technology solutions
  • Core Skills: effective communication skills; excellent people management skills;
  • mindset of “own it all the way through solution”; demonstrated experience managing projects or engagements
  • Functional Skills: Strong presentation skills; proficient in facilitating meetings of 2 to 5 people; Experience with Finance projects preferred; experience with Aderant and/or Elite systems highly preferred
  • Tools: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; Excel skills (pivot tables and macros), SQL skills (queries and stored procedures); Familiarity with Cloud Technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.); familiarity with project management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Asana, Basecamp, SmartSheets, etc.); Familiarity with Analytics tools (Alteryx, Forecasting tools, etc.)
  • A strong work ethic to solve problems, accomplish objectives, and meet deadlines
  • Project Management: Ability to manage projects using SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), PMI, and Agile methodologies
  • Position Type: 1099 Contractor
