Job Description

UI/UX Engineer: Contractor

Kaizen Analytix LLC, an analytics services company seeking a qualified technical developer Contractor with experience in UI/UX Engineering. Responsibilities and job requirements are below. This role will handle ad hoc request and some projects as they arise. Weekly hours will vary.

Responsibilities:

Candidate will be responsible for executing tasks related to a UI/UX Engineering

  • Understand business context of analytics solution: current state, problem statement, goals/objectives and their business value, obstacles, and impacted client constituents
  • Work with teams (e.g., products team, services/consulting teams, sales and marketing team, client teams) in translating business problems/needs faced by clients into user interface (UI) requirements, designing UIs to meet client/customer needs, and prototyping UI designs in the forms of clickable wireframes
  • Provide client-specific thought leadership and guide clients through workshops/interviews/exercises that yield UI designs that elegantly address their needs
  • Join teams of data scientists, analysts, and software engineers in telling data-driven stories through visualizations, dashboards, and UI screens
  • Develop an understanding of Data Science principles and core concepts to better communicate findings
  • Effectively present analysis, models, results, and insights at the right level of detail to client teams (executive-level to user-level) and Kaizen teams
  • Facilitate a critical communications role by interacting with analytics solution users (business domain), core delivery team members (project domain), and development personnel (technical domain)
  • Provide internal Kaizen teams with thought leadership for designing best-in-class sales and marketing materials/graphics, including Kaizen’s company website
  • Participate in sales and business development meetings related to UI/UX design for current/new clients
  • Contribute to Kaizen’s knowledge capital by writing articles and presenting at industry conferences

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 1-year professional UX design experience – including but not limited to prototyping, wire framing, front-end development, research and/or analytical experience is required – experience in business intelligence, business analytics, management consulting or related field is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology
  • Experience designing for WCAG AA (accessibility)compliance is a plus
  • Experience designing and utilizing UI style guide for High Fidelity Prototypes is a plus
  • Education: bachelor's degree required
  • Core Skills: Strong communication, project management, analytical, presentation; mindset of “own it all the way”
  • Tools: Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, Invision, or similar design tools.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
