What is special about this role?

Helix is hiring a Regional Vice President of Business Development to launch our latest precision medicine product line, Precision Pathway, targeting healthy systems and medical groups. You will work closely with the senior members of Helix’s Health System BD & Strategic Partnerships Team to identify potential targets, establish and cultivate relationships with executive leaders, and close deals. drive new business within the C-Suite of these organizations by working with leads, organizing and facilitating meetings across several cross-functional leaders with potential partners, and closing deals. If you thrive on building successful sales initiatives from the ground up and bringing innovation to healthcare, this is the role for you.

As a Regional Vice President of Business Development, you will:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to launch and grow the new channel focused on introducing precision medicine services to health systems and medical groups.
  • Maintain a prioritized target list of medical groups and IPAs across your region of the US.
  • Generate and qualify new leads through proactive outreach efforts, along with managing inbound leads from existing channels
  • Introduce, cultivate and build relationships with key decision-makers and KOLs across the target list of medical groups
  • Identify, negotiate and close complex, multi-million-dollar deals
  • Systematically build support for a strategic partnership within each health system or medical group, ensuring the successful deployment of their population genomics program.
  • Work with CRM and other analytics tools for lead management, pipeline tracking, reporting, etc. Track and report on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback to continuously improve sales strategies and tactics.

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of sales experience in enterprise healthcare sales driving the sales process from lead generation, qualifying, engaging, contracting, and deal closing and/or experience working with health systems in a consultative fashion within the industry.
  • Existing relationships with health system leaders, medical groups, and other healthcare executives are highly sought after.
  • Proven track record of successfully building and scaling sales initiatives from the ground up.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting in front of a wide range of client types
  • Background in healthcare strategic challenges and able to speak competently to topics
  • Able to quickly learn relevant scientific and clinical topics and be able to credibly represent Helix with customers
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills that help to build strong relationships with clinical and business partners at all levels
  • Ability to travel (up to 50%)

Pluses:

  • Experience in genomics, genomics technology, and/or population health
  • Experience discussing strategic programs with C-suite executives at health systems / medical groups
  • Experience calling on the C-suite of medical groups and IDNs nationally.
  • Familiarity with precision medicine opportunities around testing and data
  • Experience using Salesforce

Expected Pay For This Role:

There are 3 distinct parts to your Helix offer: 1) Base Salary 2) Annual Bonus 3) Equity

  • Expected Helix Base: $174,000 - $229, 500
  • Expected Helix Discretionary Annual Bonus: 20% of your annual salary
  • Equity: We offer generous equity at Helix. If you receive a Helix offer your recruiter will book dedicated time with you to educate you on our equity model.

The salary range above is our reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role across US locations. Actual starting pay will be based on non-discriminatory job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. What To Expect During Your Onboarding Week:

We want to make sure your first week is spent learning the foundations. You will be invited to live orientation sessions and spend time with your hiring manager developing your individual roadmap to success. This experience will include sessions that cover your benefits, security & privacy training, an introduction to the OKR framework used at Helix and our communication tools and norms.

What To Expect During Your First 90 days:

  • First 30 days: you’ll spend time learning the Helix way, completing training and onboarding for your roles, and getting introduced to your team and relevant stakeholders. You’ll also gain a deeper understanding of our customers, our products, the impact we make in the lives of our communities, and how to thrive at Helix through participation in Helix U.

  • Day 30 - 60: you’ll spend time contributing to projects, deeply familiarizing yourself with team and company processes, and developing a deeper understanding of Helix’s products, services and capabilities.

  • Day 60 - 90: you’ll build your OKRs with your manager, start to take ownership of projects and initiatives on your team, and begin to demonstrate your impact on the Helix mission.
