About The Outreach Team

The Outreach Team is a leader in providing innovative campaign services to nonprofits and political campaigns. Specializing in managing large-scale voter contact initiatives, we are committed to fostering civic engagement and promoting positive change. This year, we are excited to expand our reach by running numerous voter contact canvass offices across the country, aiming to make significant impacts in key areas.

As part of the Special Ops team, this position will ensure the voting registration drives are impactful by collecting high-quality data about canvasser’s work and interactions to help them become more effective at their jobs. This is a full-time position for an experienced campaigner with an eye for details and a passion for behind-the-scenes work and helping offices succeed when they are in a bind. At The Outreach Team, the Special Ops Team is expected to collaborate closely with the Project Directors and various field office Director Teams. You will ‘parachute in’ to various offices across the country as needed to maintain and drive Quality Control.

The position is primarily on the road, but you will have some time to be remote from your home base when you are in between field assignments. You should expect to work 40-60 hours per week, depending on how close to elections or other deadlines your project is. We cover the cost of travel and housing when you are out on assignments.

On assignments, you'll be the bottom line person doing the administrative work behind the scenes to make voter registration drives and voter contact drives successful. The Roving Quality Control Director reviews voter registration forms and voter contact shifts and fixes errors in the field. This position starts ASAP, and runs until November 9th, 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly at various locations, providing hands-on support and guidance to the Lead Director and canvassing teams.
  • Bottom line on verifying the quality of all voter registration forms and voter contact shifts within the required turnaround time.
  • Process, organize and track all voter registration forms and applicable data
  • Training a team in the field when necessary to fix discrepancies. Train staff in skills needed to be successful canvassers including best practices procedures (form review, phone verification, tracking).
  • Provide ongoing context and motivation for staff.
  • Ensure company policies are upheld, including holding staff accountable to performance, integrity, health, safety, and professionalism standards.
  • Maintain high standards in the office and provide ongoing feedback and evaluation for staff.
  • Develop top hourly staff into leaders (Shift Managers). Promote, train, and delegate responsibilities.
  • Anticipate workflow and create employee schedules accordingly.
  • Analyze data and report back to Lead Directors, Field Directors, and Admin Directors in all the offices to flag trends and problems.
  • Complete administrative duties, including working with the Lead Directors, Field Directors and Admin Directors from your assigned office.
  • Ensure our staff, team, and outreach efforts are rooted in and shaped by the values of equity and justice. Infusing equity and justice principles into every aspect of the job, including but not limited to staff management, orientation, and office administration.

Qualifications:

Must Haves

  • Strong listening and communication skills. Ability to motivate your team
  • Experience with voter registration
  • Possesses a growth mindset, be trainable, and open to new skills
  • Extremely detail-oriented: you catch small and large errors that most people miss
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel/Sheets
  • Passionate about progressive issues and motivated by social change
  • Experience managing staff or volunteers
  • Trustworthy, professional, and reliable
  • Ability to travel and adapt to varying field environments.
  • Able to quickly new learn system

Nice to Haves

  • Experience managing large teams of staff or volunteers
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Salary:

This is a salaried position with a range of $1300 - $1450/wk, depending on experience, plus an additional performance-based bonus at the end of every project. We offer benefits, including fully paid health care, vacation, and sick days.
