We are seeking a Senior Air Permit Engineer/Team Leader. This position is remote.
Join a dynamic team working on a variety of challenging national environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance projects. Assist with environmental and safety air emissions permitting and program development and ongoing EHS compliance needs for industrial, manufacturing, institutional, federal, and municipal clients. We are looking for a candidate with a strong work ethic, excellent client service skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Helping to develop and lead a national team for air permitting and compliance projects
  • Interacting and communicating directly with clients, including in person visits, as needed
  • Interacting with regulators on behalf of clients
  • Providing technical mentorship for mid-level and junior staff
  • Assisting with proposal writing
  • Managing/training staff and conducting start-to-finish air permitting projects
  • Managing/training staff and conducting facility air emissions calculations and regulatory applicability studies
  • Assist with air permit-related tasks, such as routine reporting, testing, and other regulatory submittals
  • Independently assess facility emissions and review air emissions calculations developed by colleagues
  • Have a deep understanding of air permit initial applications, renewals, and modifications
  • Understand the process to assess facilities for applicability to air emissions regulations
  • Advanced knowledge of air modeling guidance and processors (e.x. AERMOD, CMAQ)
  • Interest and ability to support and manage other EHS projects as they arise

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
    • PE is preferred
  • 10+ years of EHS consulting experience, with a significant portion of your job responsibilities during that time being related to the management and training of staff working on the preparation of air permit applications and completion/senior review of associated documentation
  • Knowledge of federal and state air pollution regulations (NSPS, NESHAP, CAA Title V, etc.)
  • Proficient in Excel and MS Office suite and environmental reporting software (state portals)
  • A valid Driver's License is required, and a personal vehicle for independent transportation to work sites
