Job Description

IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Senior Claims Specialist – Property Estimate Review that can report to one of the following locations:

  • Scottsdale, Arizona
  • Alpharetta, Georgia
  • Raleigh, North Carolina
  • Houston, Texas

This role will assist in the evaluation, negotiation and writing of mitigation and repair estimates and deliver commercial and personal lines estimate and mitigation training to Property staff and TPA’s. This position will serve as a technical resource for the Property claim handling staff and provide coaching and guidance to managers on estimate review structure and effective negotiation strategies. In addition, this role will identify trends and provide feedback and actions plans to managers, Vice President, and Senior Vice President.

This role works a hybrid schedule from one of the offices listed above. The hybrid schedule reflects our values (thinking and acting like an owner, collaboration, and teamwork) as it requires working from the office with colleagues and other disciplines Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely.

Although there is preference for an individual to work in one of the above mentioned IAT offices, we will consider fully remote work for the ideal candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the integrity of Property building damage estimates and overall file quality for Personal and Commercial lines.
  • Reviews IA/TPA and contractor repair and mitigation estimates to ensure they are technically accurate and meet appropriate industry guidelines and standards for repair.
  • Compiles specific estimate revision requests and interacts with IA/TPA’s and contractors (verbal and written) to obtain appropriate estimate corrections.
  • Reviews supplemental repair/mitigation estimates received and completes secondary review process for technical accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
  • Document all review and assignment activity in XactAnalysis, Corelogic and internal systems where required.
  • Develops and maintains thorough knowledge of IICRC guidelines and complete WRT certification within 2 years.
  • Identifies, evaluates and analyzes opportunity areas impacting indemnity pay out, customer service, regulatory compliance and expense control. Gains consensus from all parties involved, assists in the development of resolution plans and participates in implementation.
  • Provides ongoing training and guidance to Property claim handlers through, desk alongs, focus reviews, coaching and feedback. Review damage estimates prior to payment as needed. Act as a resource to claim handling staff on large or complex claims including MCU.
  • Assists in catastrophe situations by providing first response expertise and training. This includes serving as technical resource to Property staff, TPA/IA team lead and support of emergency service estimates and the identification of potentially high severity exposures.
  • Potential for deployment to catastrophe sites to provide in person training and oversight of IA’s, perform re-inspections and scouting in affected areas.
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications:

Must-Have:

  • HS Degree/GED with 8+ years property claims handling experience
  • Broad technical claim knowledge associated with Property claims
  • Strong proficiency in Corelogic Mobile Claims / Symbility
  • Strong management skills with ability to influence at all organizational levels
  • Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily
  • Licensure as required by respective state(s).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize work
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze date, utilize sound judgment to draw conclusion and make supported decisions
  • Able to interpret insurance policy contracts and identify how its coverage applies to a particular loss
  • To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.

Preferred to Have:

  • CPCU and other insurance related designations
