The Senior Director of Accounting and SEC Reporting is primarily responsible for all corporate accounting, technical accounting and SEC reporting. This includes oversight of corporate accounting and SEC reporting teams, responsible for worldwide month-end close processes covering opex and the balance sheet, oversight and refining related SOX processes, and leading all SEC reporting activities and partnering on ESG reporting. This dynamic leader will proactively partner with revenue accounting leadership, Finance & Strategy (F&S) and business partners to anticipate and prepare for changes in the business, refine processes to accelerate timely, accurate and useful financial reporting, partner with IT to drive system improvements, and develop the future leaders across the teams. Collaboration skills are key, given the partnership required with internal stakeholders and leadership of the external audit process. The role will provide guidance to the rest of the team to help embed US GAAP knowledge and accounting policies needed in a high growth technology company.

About this roll* (Responsibilities)

  • Responsible for leading teams to generate timely internal and external financial reporting, driving effectiveness and efficiency and raising the bar on quality.
  • Oversight of month-end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations, ad-hoc analyses, trial balance reviews, and financial statement preparation, managing to tight deadlines.
  • Responsible for monthly internal, quarterly and annual SEC reporting, and partnership on ESG reporting requirements, with inspiring project management skills.
  • Partnership within the CAO organization, as well as across Finance, Investor Relations, Legal and other business leaders to continuously improve reporting for changing business and regulations.
  • Refine SOX and other review procedures across GL and reporting processes, anticipating and preparing for changes
  • Improve account reconciliation process, drive deadlines, enhance deliverables as they pertain to the month-end close and financial statement preparation process
  • Lead team responsible for research and documentation regarding complex accounting matters including revenue recognition, credit losses, share-based compensation, financial instruments, and leases, and implementation of new accounting rules and reporting requirements in a timely manner
  • Enhance the control environment in collaboration with the rest of the accounting team
  • Partner with IT to drive system improvements across relevant accounting applications
  • Play a leadership role in managing the audit process and building relationships with external auditors
  • Lead and develop a world class team

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

    • Degree in Accounting or Finance and a CPA with 12+ years of relevant experience
    • Public accounting experience, ideally with technology company clients in FinTech or SaaS based revenue
    • Experience in external reporting and technical accounting at a public company
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Inspiring manager who is focused in building and developing a world class team
    • Ability to develop relationships, and be an effective cross functional leader
    • Experience and skilled at working in a collaborative and fast moving environment

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.Pay Range$188,000—$301,000 USD
