Responsibilities:Electrical Design: Design and develop electrical systems, components, and products for a range of applications, including power distribution, lighting, controls, and instrumentation. Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) to create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts.Specification Development: Develop technical specifications, requirements, and performance criteria for electrical components, equipment, and materials. Research and select appropriate components and suppliers based on project requirements, cost considerations, and quality standards.System Integration: Coordinate with mechanical, civil, and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems with overall project designs. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into building designs and infrastructure projects.Code Compliance: Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IEEE). Perform code analysis, calculations, and reviews to verify compliance and obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory authorities.Testing and Validation: Conduct testing, simulation, and validation of electrical systems and components to verify performance, reliability, and safety. Analyze test results, identify issues or areas for improvement, and propose design modifications or enhancements as needed.Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks, hazards, and failure modes associated with electrical designs. Implement risk mitigation strategies, safety features, and redundancy measures to minimize risks and ensure system reliability and resilience.Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive design documentation, technical reports, and project documentation packages. Maintain accurate records of design changes, revisions, and approvals. Communicate project status, milestones, and technical issues to project stakeholders and management.Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering design. Participate in professional development activities, training programs, and knowledge sharing initiatives to enhance technical skills and expertise.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Master's degree is a plus.4+ years of experience in electrical design engineering, preferably in building systems, infrastructure, or industrial projects.Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and electrical design tools.Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and standards.Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IEEE).Experience with electrical system analysis, simulation, and modeling software (e.g., ETAP, SKM).Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and interact with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
