We need ambitious, experienced engineers who can help us drive this stage of growth. As an engineer at Calendly, you will both build new features and work to scale our platform and architecture. You will also learn to work with our deployment platform and tools, such as GCP, Kubernetes, Vault, and Argo Workflows; and our tech stack which includes Rails, NodeJS, React, Golang, PostgreSQL, and Redis, to name a few.

  • Collaborating within your team to plan and build new features
  • Reviewing Implementation Plans and pull requests of your teammates, and incorporate their feedback on your own IPs and PRs
  • Contributing to platform scaling initiatives and driving a microservices style architecture
  • Developing RESTful and event-driven APIs for both internal and external use
  • Partnering regularly with engineers, product managers, and designers to write IPs and execute on requirements
  • Attending agile ceremonies to help your team plan out their work and get it done
  • Working across squads to improve Engineering practices at Calendly
  • Sharing your knowledge with other team members

What do we need from you?

  • 7+ years of Software Development experience at a SaaS or technology company
  • A track record of rapidly learning new languages and technologies to get the job done; your secret weapon is adaptability
  • Experience as a technical leader or SME in a functional area on a current or previous team
  • Well practiced in retrospectives, reflection, owning responsibility, and communicating with kindness
  • A track record of rapidly learning new languages and technologies to get the job done; skilled at adapting to new paradigms
  • You've built modular, composable service architectures using Node, Go, or Python and a variety of back-end data stores
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) (microservices); previously survived a Monolith to Services architectural rebuild is nice to have
  • Excitement to craft simple software solutions to sophisticated problems
  • Experience crafting clean, reliable and highly maintainable code
  • Collaborating with your peers in a small engineering team, biased in favor of results over process
  • On-call experience is a nice-to-have
  • Availability for participation in on-call rotation, ensuring prompt and effective responses to business-critical alerts outside of regular working hours
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time
