Job Description

Our engineering team is responsible for empowering school systems across the country and around the world to take data-driven action by delivering timely, accurate, and actionable data. As a member of this team, you'll be at the center of product innovation. You'll collaborate with your teammates and across multiple product teams to take ideas from concept to reality, applying your technical skills and a balanced dose of user empathy. 

In this role, you will: 

  • Modify and improve test strategy, scenarios, and test cases to ensure coverage and acceptance criteria 
  • Build new automated test scenarios within existing framework. 
  • Conduct compatibility tests with other software programs, hardware, operating systems, and network environments. 
  • Perform initial triage and root-cause-analysis. Recreate identified defects in the resolution process. 
  • Work with multiple development teams to ensure high-quality software delivery. 

Qualifications

For this role, you must have: 

  • 2-4 years experience as QA Engineer / SDET 
  • Experience with object-oriented languages, e.g., C#, Python, Java. 
  • Experience with software development process. 
  • Solid communication skills. 
  • Curious demeanor that will advocate for customers. 

Bonus points for: 

  • BS in Computer Engineering related field. 
  • Experience with source control systems like Git, Perforce, TFS. 
  • Experience working in Lean/Scrum/Agile environment. 
  • Experience working with .NET Selenium, NUnit, Postman, Jenkins

Salary Range: $68,000-$93,000

  • This range is based on national market data and may vary by location.

Background

For the Computer Professional, to be exempt (e.g. exempt from overtime), positions need to meet both a Federal Pay Threshold, a State Pay Threshold and pass the job duties test. We are confident that our engineering roles pass the duties test.

Primary Duties

  • Application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine HW, SW or system functional specifications;​
  • Design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing or modification of computer systems or programs, including prototypes, based on and related to user or system design specifications;​
  • Design, documentation, testing, creation or modification of computer programs related to machine operating systems;​

Issue

  • California tends to have the higher wage requirement, and it tends to increase each year. Currently effective for Jan 1, 2024, the salary is ~$115,763.
