Job Description

Modash is on a mission to help every creator earn a living. We're really good at getting companies to deploy more cash to creators all around the world - but there is a lot more work to do.

We're looking for a Software Engineer that get's excited by reasoning through product concepts to drive revenue growth and operational efficiency. You'll work closely with our Head of Marketing, Operations manager and all other teams (Customer Success, Sales, Product) to (i)build projects that drive growth and (ii)help manage the impact of said growth on internal operations.

Build projects that drive growth:
Modash has a unique inbound-driven growth engine that utilizes our unique access to data tobuild tools, do research and scale content publication.

Those projects are extremely important to our growth and require an interest in the art of growing companies, strong engineering skills and a knack for debating and determining where opportunities lie.

You will have huge influence over and end-to-end implementation responsibility for a variety of projects like the ones linked above.

These projects drive millions of new users to Modash web pages, and you would get to have that kind of impact that can alter the course of the company forever.

Help manage the impact of said growth on internal operations.

We put our customer experience above all other priorities at Modash. As we sprint toward 2000 customers, with increasingly complex needs, there is more burden on our internal operations. That results in a worse customer experience, and slowed growth.

Example: Many actions that customer facing employees would normally need to request from engineers. Recently, a Modash customer had a team member who was the owner of their account leave the company.

Customer support could not resolve the issue on their own (it was non-obvious from the customer's description). An engineer had to review the user permissions in our database, determine the issue and adjust the permission structure based on customer support's feedback.

This process introduces delays for the customer, disrupts our product teams and adds workload to our customer support function.

Your job is to:

- Help customer support really express the nature of the problem, and why it matters.
- Help determine if this problem is the most important thing to spend time on.
- Help design a solution to the real problem.
- Build and deploy solutions. Frontend, backend - you name it, you own it.

Requirements

To succeed in this role you must be essentially a full stack software engineer, with the ability to help scrutinize problems and with an interest in building great companies.

  • Familiarity with customer data platform tools like Segment.
  • Familiarity with integrating software tools like Intercom, Pipedrive or similar.
  • Experience with AWS.
  • Strong understanding of API development, including REST and GraphQL.
  • Experience with Typescript, Vue.js or similar.
  • Familiar with PGSQL and MongoDB.
  • Adaptability and a passion for learning: a strong desire to learn new techniques and technologies to drive growth and the ability to quickly adapt to changes in the market or product.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.
