About our Team

We are a software engineering team within the Academic and Government division, which helps research institutions track and analyze their research data records.

About the Role

As a Software Engineer III, you will be working on the design, development and quality testing of the software development assignments for the Data Monitor web application. You will partner with cross-functional technical teams to deliver successful projects in an Agile environment. Your responsibilities will encompass end-to-end ownership, ensuring the implementation of customer-centric software solutions while maintaining strict adherence to security, vulnerability, accessibility, GDPR compliance, and other relevant standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality, responsive web applications.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and other team members to define software requirements and specifications.
  • Translate design concepts into functional and aesthetically pleasing web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks like React.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and user experience.
  • Lead code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.
  • Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
  • Resolve complex technical issues as necessary.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our software development processes.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Overall Work Experience: 3+ Years

  • 3-4 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
  • Profound knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with JavaScript (including ES6+ syntax and features), React and its ecosystem (e.g., Redux, Context API, React Router) and Node.js.
  • Experience with modern frontend build pipelines and tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite, Babel).
  • Experience in building and contributing components for large design systems is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of HTML & CSS / SCSS
  • Proficiency in writing front-end tests using libraries like React Testing Library, Jest, or similar frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, GitHub/GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines utilizing tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with web accessibility standards and best practices is a strong plus.
  • Proven experience in software engineering design principles and architecture.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams.
