Job Overview

The Littleton Group is looking for an experienced TPA Casualty Adjuster to handle nonstandard auto collision and comprehensive claims, as well as first- and third-party property damage liability claims. Reporting to the TPA Supervisor, you will conduct claims investigations, take recorded statements, and establish liability on each assigned claim.

To be successful in this role, you need to present thorough and accurate reports to clients on claims investigations and situations, determine extent of insurance coverage and liability on each filed claim, and negotiate settlements for resolutions with claimants and their attorneys. You must have at least two years of experience handling auto collision, comprehensive, and property damage liability claims. Additionally, you will need to display an exceptional capability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent organization and documentation skills in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. This role is a full-time, home-based position.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Determine the extent of insurance coverage and liability on each filed claim
  • Investigate claims, including interviewing and/or taking recorded statements from claimants, clients, and witnesses
  • Assure compliance with Davies and client claim handling guidelines
  • Maintain diary workflow and assigned tasks
  • Demonstrate excellent phone management skills with ability to proactively answer incoming calls
  • Draft Reservation of Rights and/or Denial Letters as needed
  • Respond to client questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner
  • Present thorough and accurate reports to clients on claims investigations and situations
  • Negotiate settlements for resolutions with claimants and their attorneys
  • Issue payments to claimants as deemed necessary
  • Identify claim trends and participate in client audit and file reviews

Experience and Qualifications

Required

  • 2 or more years of auto adjusting experience, including, but not limited to, experience with collision, comprehensive, and property damage liability claims
  • Possess Texas Adjuster License
  • Maintain CEU credits for state licensure requirements
  • Exhibit a strong ability to prepare and present accurate, reliable, and factual reports with recommendations
  • Proven ability to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed while meeting time-sensitive deadlines
  • Conduct investigations in multi-party situations
  • Demonstrate the ability to use standard or customized software applications appropriate to assigned tasks
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of current principles and practices associated with claims investigations, adjustment, and related practices
  • Demonstrate positive interaction with clients and customers
  • Possess ability and willingness to learn quickly and utilize new skills resulting from rapidly changing information and/or technology
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Work from a professional home-based office environment free of disturbances and/or distractions

Preferred

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3 to 5 years of auto adjusting experience, including, but not limited to, experience with collision, comprehensive, and property damage liability claims
  • Georgia and Alabama Adjuster Licenses
  • Experience with comparative negligence claims
  • Bilingual in Spanish

Position Type, Work Environment and Physical Demands

This is a home-based, full time, salaried, exempt position that predominantly operates remotely from a professional home-based office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and scanners and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer. While performing the duties of this job, the individual will be required to regularly hear and talk. This is a largely sedentary role requiring the ability to sit at a desk, reach outward, use a phone, have use of fingers to operate office equipment such as a keyboard, mouse, phone, printer, copier, and to reach above the head, bend, or stand, as necessary.
