ABOUT THE ROLE
Happy Money is seeking a dynamic and strategic VP, People + Culture with a broad set of experiences across all major HR functions to champion our people in this next season for Happy Money. As the VP, People and Culture, you’ll be instrumental in shaping and executing a people strategy that aligns with our values, culture and business objectives. This role will play a critical role in shaping the employee experience, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment and attracting, retaining and developing top talent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership in all areas of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, learning and development, compensation and benefits, diversity and inclusion, and People operations. Leading a team of 2 exceptional HR professionals while positively defining and contributing to the company’s culture and success.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute people and culture strategies that support Happy Money’s overall business objectives. Partner with the executive leadership team to drive organizational effectiveness, talent management and culture initiatives.
  • Employee Engagement: Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction and morale. Lead the P+C team on the development of programs and events that foster a sense of community and camaraderie among employees.
  • Internal Communications: Partner with our Internal Communications team on strategies, initiatives, and channels to inform, provide clarity, and create alignment with company strategy.
  • Learning and Development: Design and implement comprehensive learning and development programs to support manager enablement, employee growth and skill development. Collaborate with managers and P+C to create clear career paths and professional opportunities for employees, fostering retention and motivation while aligning individual aspirations with organizational goals.
  • Performance Management: Cultivate a positive and inclusive work environment where employees feel valued, engaged, and motivated to contribute to the company's success. Lead initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction, morale, and retention.
  • Total Rewards: Make recommendations on compensation, equity, and benefits programs that are in alignment with Happy Money’s values and ensure internal equity, external market competitiveness, and compliance with all local and federal regulations.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legal requirements and best practices.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in human resources management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing strategic HR initiatives that drive organizational success
  • Strong knowledge of CA local, state and federal employment laws. Bonus points if you have experience working in multi-state payroll companies!
  • Demonstrated experience in talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, learning and development, compensation and benefits, and HR operations.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and influencing skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Deep understanding of employment laws and regulations
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, perks for working in the technology or financial services industry
