Remote Work in Florida

Florida's economic transformation over the past century is one of the most remarkable in American history. As recently as the early 1900s, the state was largely undeveloped swampland with a tiny population. Miami has aggressively positioned itself as a fintech and tech hub, attracting startups and talent from New York and San Francisco with its favorable tax environment — Florida has no state income tax.

The no-income-tax advantage has made Florida one of the top destinations for high-earning remote workers in the country. The migration of financial professionals, tech workers, and entrepreneurs from New York and California accelerated dramatically during and after the pandemic. Miami, Tampa, and Jacksonville have all invested in tech ecosystem development to capitalize on the influx. Orlando's diverse economy — spanning tourism, defense, simulation technology, and healthcare — also supports a wide range of remote work opportunities.
