Job description – Account Manager, Australia & New Zealand

Job Purpose:

This role is central to driving MillerKnoll's strategic growth within the ANZ region by managing and expanding key regional accounts. The Account Manager, Australia & New Zealand, will be responsible for aligning with MillerKnoll ANZ strategic priorities, focusing on active local sectors such as Government, Financial Services, Resources, and Education, and targeting new growth opportunities in verticals including Healthcare and Hospitality. This role involves leading major project initiatives, fostering client relationships, and collaborating across regional and international teams to find, develop and secure new multi location National and Regional Account opportunities and strengthen and develop existing Accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and nurture client relationships across regional/national accounts, ensuring alignment with the strategic priorities of the region.
  • Engage with end clients in sectors such as Government, Financial Services, Resources, and Education to drive project alignment and growth.
  • Focus on major project opportunities, aligning them with international strategic growth initiatives and securing account opportunities through project wins.
  • Address ANZ-specific market challenges, such as sustainability and re-use, by delivering on strategic priorities that enhance customer loyalty and encourage new order growth.
  • Identify and develop growth opportunities in emerging verticals, including Healthcare and Hospitality.
  • Represent MillerKnoll at industry-specific engagements, strengthening the company’s presence and relationships.
  • Provide ergonomic expertise to support Market Representatives and Dealer Project Consultants.
  • Lead thought leadership initiatives, driving conversations around the "Design With Impact" philosophy to elevate MillerKnoll’s market position.
  • Develop cross-country and regional framework agreements to capitalize on multi-territory account opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the global MillerKnoll and dealer networks on large regional account opportunities.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to account-driven sales, developing and growing top regional and national accounts to maximize share of wallet and ensure long-term retention.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key regional accounts, understanding their business strategies and challenges to add value beyond traditional sales engagements.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of new account opportunities, focusing on both immediate and long-term growth within the region.

Resource Management:

Financial:

  • Manage a travel and entertainment budget, ensuring expenditures are planned and approved appropriately.
  • Responsible for the profitability of MillerKnoll's business in the ANZ region.

Human:

  • Report directly to the MillerKnoll Regional Sales Manager, Australia & New Zealand
  • Dotted/functional reporting to the APMEA Regional Projects Manager

Education and Experience:

  • A business-related degree or equivalent level of education.
  • At least 5 years of successful new business sales experience, preferably with a background in design-led or ergonomic sales.
  • Experience working for and/or with multinational organizations, including C-suite executives.
  • A strong understanding of the Australia & New Zealand region, national exposure.

Competencies:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • A team player who is highly self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed and to travel frequently throughout the region.
  • High proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office 365, Salesforce experience preferable.
  • Culturally aware, with an ability to navigate diverse business environments.
