Job Description

Overview:

If you're looking for the stability of a profitable, growing company with the entrepreneurial spirit of a startup, we’re hiring. SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking a QA Test Coverage Analyst. This key role is responsible for ensuring adequate test coverage for all work moving through the “product factory,” including new products, product changes, and bug fixes. This role will have significant interaction across the Program QA organization as well as interaction with the Product Analysis and Engineering teams. The candidate should be ready to take ownership of test coverage and test case management. The role will include the opportunity to get exposure to and experience with other aspects of QA, and to learn from other members of a larger QA team with broad and diverse talent and knowledge.

What you’d be doing:

  • Review and evolve our collection of test cases and suites, identifying gaps in coverage and flagging cases for regression testing based on anticipated product changes.
  • Maintain an effective mapping system linking past resolved defects to our current test coverage, ensuring robust regression testing.
  • Proactively recommend and implement enhancements to our test coverage strategies.
  • Collaborate with automation and manual test teams to maintain comprehensive coverage during the transition from manual to automated testing. Prioritize manual tests for automation based on cost-effectiveness and time-to-market objectives.
  • Maintain and organize test case data in our Test Case Management system, facilitating reporting, identifying automation opportunities, and optimizing overall test coverage efficiency.
  • Contribute to various testing types, including User Acceptance Testing and Rates Testing, and provide flexibility to support urgent QA needs during high-release periods.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Solid knowledge of personal lines or commercial lines property insurance and a deep understanding of rating.
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical stakeholders.

Highly preferred candidates also have:

  • Previous experience in quality assurance (QA).
  • Proficiency in tools like TestRail, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Interest or experience in QA automation, manual testing, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and technical skills such as Java, JSON, Postman, Python, RestAssured, Selenium, Smartsheet, and XML.
  • A keen ability to perceive product quality from the perspectives of customers, business stakeholders, and regulators.
  • Interest in understanding and applying concepts related to test input variation and coverage, including input parameterization, input combinations, boundary testing, pairwise testing, spot checking, and comprehensive test coverage.
