What you’ll do
As a CAD Technician, you will report directly to the Project Manager and collaborate closely with our engineering and environmental staff. You will receive guidance and support for complex tasks and new assignments, ensuring a smooth workflow. You will also:
- Use OpenRoads design software to create and modify road alignments, profiles and cross-sections.
- Generate detailed drawings and construction documentation, including plan sheets, profiles and quantity calculations.
- Incorporate survey data and terrain information into road designs for accuracy and feasibility.
- Collaborate with engineers and surveyors to resolve design challenges and optimize road alignments.
- Conduct quality checks on design drawings to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Participate in project meetings to provide input on design solutions and technical issues.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in OpenRoads software and share knowledge with the team.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior staff in OpenRoads software usage and best practices.
- Maintain client confidentiality of all project work as a team player.
