Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Partners with Digital Product Manager and other Digital Product Owners to execute on the solution vision/roadmap. Serves as the customer and business proxy to developers and agile delivery teams for a digital product and/or experience impacting a line of business.
- Defines, prioritizes and grooms the agile delivery team's product backlog to ensure continuous delivery, as well as, develops, prioritizes and manages epics and user stories for the delivery team.
- Participates in daily scrum meetings, grooming meetings, project status meetings, sprint planning and review meetings. Drives near-term objectives planning by overlaying the prioritize backlog against fixed time blocks (monthly/quarterly) to help manage interdependencies and coordination across development teams.
- Participates in planning and execution of user acceptance testing, triage issues and works with development team to resolve any challenges/issues.
- Defines, monitors and analyzes metrics that inform the success of the digital solution(s).
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director, Digital Product Management. This is an individual contributor role.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in business administration, digital marketing, human-computer interaction, user experience, computer science or related subject area.
License/Certification/Designation: Property/casualty insurance and/or life/health/accident/variable annuity licensing and/or FINRA 6 and 26 securities registration, CLU, CPCU, CPU, FLMI certifications are a plus.
Experience: Typically, eight or more years of demonstrated experience delivering customer-facing digital solutions, internet sales, website or web application development and/or research. Experience with agile delivery methodologies and product management/owner principles. Project management in an internet sales environment required.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Understanding of key digital technologies in the focus area assigned required. Insurance and financial services industry knowledge a plus. Understanding of agile delivery methodologies and product owner/manager practices required. Knowledge of user experience principles and practices a plus. Proven ability to manage digital efforts with moderate technical complexity for a line of business and/or experience. Strong ability to communicate with cross-functional agile teams including technology developers, user experience, business, marketing and other product owners and managers. Ability to analysis data, results and metrics to set backlog priorities. Strong project and process management skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
