Ardent is seeking a GIS Analyst to join our team.

This is a Remote position.

Position Description:

Ardent is seeking a GIS Analyst. The GIS Analyst will be responsible for leveraging their experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to support various tasks related to data analysis, cartography, and spatial data management. This role requires proficiency in generating complex multi-layered printed, digital, and web-based maps, as well as creating and modifying template-based GIS web applications. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of GIS and GPS concepts, along with familiarity with relational database fundamentals and concepts.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Produce high-quality, complex cartographic and data products using GIS software.
  • Generate multi-layered printed maps for various projects.
  • Develop and modify template-based GIS web applications to meet project requirements.
  • Perform advanced geospatial analyses to support project planning and decision-making.
  • Utilize GIS and GPS concepts to conduct spatial analysis tasks.
  • Conduct data conversion, migration, and translation activities using advanced processing techniques.
  • Manage large-scale spatial data sources and respond to complex data requests.
  • Work with imagery data, including collection, processing, analysis, and exploitation.
  • Ensure compliance with official policy regarding metadata population and management.
  • Assist in the development of GIS applications, including application coding and testing.
  • Contribute to the improvement of GIS tools and applications based on user feedback.
  • Conduct GIS and GPS user training sessions for internal stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support and effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical users.

Requirements:

  • Junior level: Minimum of 2 years of experience in GIS-related roles.
  • Middle level: At least 4 years of experience in GIS-related roles.
  • Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and related tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on spatial data analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.
  • Experience working with imagery data and performing imagery analysis is preferred.
  • Familiarity with relational database fundamentals and concepts.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
