Job Description

Luminary Group is partnered with a leading life science company who are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Epidemiology to join their esteemed team. As the Head of Epidemiology, you will provide strategic leadership in the design, implementation, and evaluation of epidemiological studies to generate valuable insights from real-world evidence (RWE) data.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of epidemiologists and research scientists, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement epidemiological research strategies to address key scientific questions using RWE data.
  • Design and oversee the execution of epidemiological studies, including study protocols, data collection, and analysis plans.
  • Analyze and interpret complex RWE datasets using advanced statistical techniques and epidemiological methods.
  • Ensure the quality, integrity, and ethical standards of epidemiological studies and data analyses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate epidemiology findings into broader evidence generation and decision-making processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in epidemiology, real-world evidence, and healthcare data.
  • Provide epidemiological expertise and support in regulatory interactions and submissions.
  • Contribute to the development and review of study protocols, statistical analysis plans, and scientific publications.
  • Present epidemiological findings and insights to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • PhD in epidemiology, public health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in epidemiology, with a focus on real-world evidence (RWE) and the healthcare industry.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with a track record of leading epidemiological teams.
  • Expertise in epidemiological study design, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical methods used in epidemiology, including propensity score matching, survival analysis, and multivariate regression.
  • Experience working with large healthcare databases and real-world data sources.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and guidelines related to epidemiology in the healthcare industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide innovative epidemiological solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex epidemiological concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Publication record in peer-reviewed journals and active participation in relevant scientific communities is desirable.
