Your mission
We are seeking for a (Junior) Legal Counsel, to work remotely (in Germany or Portugal), or be based in Berlin or Porto. As a (Junior) Legal Counsel, you will be involved in commercial law and labor law tasks ensuring our actions consent with the legal requirements as a regulated institute under the German Banking Act (KWG) and in the future under MiCAR and DORA and our business decisions are sustainable over the long term. Your main focus area will be the drafting and review of commercial/SaaS contracts. Additionally, you will work closely with the second line on the multitude of regulatory projects in the crypto space.
In this role, you will:
- Draft, improve, and negotiate various agreements, contracts, and procedures in the area of commercial law, and labor law
- Shape the everyday work of the legal department through creating and improving our internal procedures and processes
- Support strategic initiatives, products, and processes that will advance and scale Finoa’s business while continuing to mitigate risks
- Gain a deep understanding of the law and regulations in the crypto space
- Advice our People Team on employment-related questions and projects
What you need to be successful:
- Business Law or Law degree from a German law school, Second State Exam is a plus
- At least 2 years of professional experience in a law firm, financial institution, or tech company / startup
- Professional experience in a regulated environment is a plus
- Fluency in German and English
- Curiosity and interest in banking and regulatory law with special focus on crypto
- Effective team player at the intersection of the first and second line of defense
