Twine operates as a thriving global freelance network, with diverse experts across various fields, including marketing, engineering, and AI. Our core mission is to empower creators, whether they're businesses or individual freelancers, to thrive in their creative endeavours.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a junior video editor to assist in growing their YouTube channel. The primary responsibility will involve editing videos for the channel, which necessitates familiarity with the existing style and format. The delivery schedule will be jointly determined between the video editor and the content creator, aiming to strike a balance between quality and timely output. Budget discussions will take place once the video editor expresses interest in the task.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and understand the existing video content and style of the YouTube channel
  • Edit raw video footage to create engaging and visually appealing videos consistent with the channel's branding and format
  • Incorporate appropriate transitions, graphics, and visual effects to enhance the overall viewing experience
  • Collaborate with the content creator to understand their vision and incorporate feedback into the edited videos

Requirements

  • Junior-level experience in video editing, with a strong understanding of video production workflows
  • Proficiency in industry-standard video editing software
  • Familiarity with video editing techniques, such as colour grading, audio mixing, and basic motion graphics
  • Ability to quickly adapt to the content creator's preferred style and editing preferences

Advice from our career coach

As someone who has worked with freelancers across various industries, I believe a successful applicant for the junior video editor role at Twine should possess a strong understanding of video editing workflows and proficiency in industry-standard editing software. To stand out as an applicant, it is crucial to showcase your ability to adapt quickly to different editing styles and preferences while maintaining the channel's branding and format. Here are some tips to help you shine:

  • Showcase your proficiency in industry-standard video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
  • Demonstrate your understanding of video editing techniques like colour grading, audio mixing, and basic motion graphics.
  • Include examples in your portfolio that highlight your ability to create engaging and visually appealing videos consistent with specific branding guidelines.
  • Emphasize your collaboration skills and your ability to incorporate feedback and work closely with content creators to bring their vision to life.
