The GTM team comprises four critical functions: Revenue, Strategy Operations, Customer Solutions Delivery, and Partnerships. We are a group chalked full of subject matter experts, and we function as a vital enablement layer for Marqeta’s tech teams to build best-in-class card payment solutions and money movement functionality in a compliant, scalable manner. In sum, this team spans horizontally across Marqeta and is vital to both the company’s, as well as our customers, long-term success.

As a Senior Onboarding Project Manager, you will report to The Senior Manager of Customer Onboarding for our Enterprise and Key Account Segment. This visible position will require the successful candidate to be a seasoned Project Management professional who can educate, motivate, and launch our customers on the Marqeta platform. You’ll be expected to partner with cross-functional teams outside of our immediate organization in delivering solutions for our customers. This candidate should be able to see around corners, drive stakeholders with milestones, and communicate clearly across the business. This candidate will be the voice and advocate of the customer while delivering solutions that best meet our customer’s requirements. They will make an effort to understand the central problem the customer is trying to solve and view the project deliverables through that lens. This role has a large variety of types of solutions they are responsible for, each with potential customizations. As a critical piece of Marqeta’s and the Customer’s success, this role should be laser-focused on delivering the statement of work for the customer while protecting both the customer and the business. This candidate needs to be able to balance communication channels with all levels of both Marqeta and our customer’s business.

We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remotely within the United States or from our Oakland, CA headquarters. We’d love for you to join us!

What You’ll Do

  • Work with our customers, payment networks, banks, vendors, and multiple cross-functional teams to ensure our customers’ programs are delivered with accuracy and quality in-tact.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers in the Implementation process with the ability to build relationships, learning how our tools are integrated into what they do to delight their customers.
  • Use predictable and proven project management tools and methodologies to ensure our customers' projects are delivered on time and to an exceptional standard.
  • Develop deep relationships within Marqeta to ensure we’re doing all we can to get our customers where they need to be quickly, predictably, and reliably.
  • Communicate often and openly. You’ll be comfortable in a regulated and technical environment. Partner with revenue leads on customer needs and advocating for what is best for them and for Marqeta.

What We’re Looking For

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience and PMI certification.
  • Flexibility with schedule given working for a US company based in California (though will work to respect time zones.)
  • Significant track-record in customer-facing project delivery/management roles.
  • Great organizational skills. Proven ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver multiple, complex projects on time.
  • At home and at ease with technology, product, legal, B2B technology applications and how technology platforms serve customer businesses.
  • Superior communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, presentation written, email).
  • Positive attitude, work ethic and high integrity, a team player, who is adaptable, resourceful, and self-starter who is able to work independently
  • Comfort in the ambiguity of changing priorities and flexibility to new ideas within a fast-paced environment.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

Nice-To-Haves

  • Background in payments or financial services
  • Experience with implementation projects for enterprise clients
  • Experience with Smartsheets, Jira, Salesforce and other collaboration tools
  • Experience supporting Revenue-facing teams in a POD sales structure

Compensation and Benefits

Marqeta is a Flex First company which allows you to choose your best working environment, whether that be from home or at a company office. To support Flex First, we calibrate pay to a competitive value according to working location. Compensation is aligned according to three tiers within the United States:

  • National: A baseline tier that applies to most of the geographic territory of the United States.
  • Premium: Slightly elevated from the National tier, and oriented toward a narrower set of higher cost-of-living areas, such as Los Angeles CA and Seattle WA
  • Premium Plus: A tier for the most expensive working areas, like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City.

When determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location. The new-hire base salary range for this position is:

  • National: $101,625 - $135,500
  • Premium: $114,375 - $152,500
  • Premium Plus: $127,050 - $169,400
