The Product Operations Senior Manager is a newly created role focused on improving the Credit’s team ability to strategically execute against their product roadmap. This role will help accelerate delivery of key cross functional products by creating the structure needed to ensure that timelines and dependencies are identified in advance. Additionally, this role will establish, maintain and improve the Product Development Lifecycle for the Credit Organization. This is an exciting role focused on one of Marqeta’s high growth product suites. This role will have the opportunity to build new processes and improve existing ones while working closely with some of the most innovative leaders in the Credit space.

What You’ll Do

  • Establish and drive the product development lifecycle reporting and standards for the Credit Product team. This includes delivering operational playbooks that enable us to launch offerings more efficiently in the future.
  • Lead key strategic product initiatives from an operations/program perspective including setting up workstreams, deadlines, owners and communications within ProdTech and across Marqeta.
  • Identity and drive process improvements for the Credit team to enable them to deliver value faster
  • Develop and maintain engineering capacity plans in partnership with Product and Engineering managers. Leverage metrics to improve transparency, overall team performance and efficiency around key cross-org programs.
  • Partner with senior Credit leadership to develop both annual and long range plans and the underlying execution project plans to drive the business unit forward.
  • Provide visibility to program status (issues, risks, metrics, etc.) on an ongoing basis through push status reporting as needed (to all stakeholders, team members, and interested parties)
  • Own and drive new vendor management contracts for Credit Products.
  • Partner with both product management and delivery teams on customer enablement and best practices.
  • Collaborate with our Legal and Compliance teams to ensure accurate and efficient Credit Product Approvals and Submission

What We’re Looking For

  • BA/BS degree with 8+ years of product operations, program management, operations, or business consulting that worked closely with product and engineering teams as well as directly with customers.
  • 2+ years of payments or compliance experience - working in the financial services industry or leading/managing programs
  • 5+ years of leading cross functional programs and leadership experience
  • Strong facilitation skills - experience leveraging virtual collaboration tools to document brainstorming, project plans and decisions.
  • Experience building and maintaining a Product Development Life Cycle for a product management team
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a history of hands-on, detail orientation.
  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives and technical and non-technical team members alike.
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, and relationship building skills conducive to driving consensus
  • Ability to master financial subjects and technologies relevant to the program.

Master of Business Administration

  • Experience working with commercial or consumer credit programs
  • PROSCI Change Management certification
  • Certification with Six Sigma Methodologies or other process improvement certifications

Compensation and Benefits

Marqeta is a Flex First company which allows you to choose your best working environment, whether that be from home or at a company office. To support Flex First, we calibrate pay to a competitive value according to working location. Compensation is aligned according to three tiers within the United States:

  • National: A baseline tier that applies to most of the geographic territory of the United States.
  • Premium: Slightly elevated from the National tier, and oriented toward a narrower set of higher cost-of-living areas, such as Los Angeles CA and Seattle WA
  • Premium Plus: A tier for the most expensive working areas, like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City.

When determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location. The new-hire base salary range for this position is:

  • National: $124,650 - $166,200
  • Premium: $140,250 - $187,000
  • Premium Plus: $155,850- $207,800
