As Marqeta’s Senior Product Manager on the Data Platform team, you will help lead the implementation of our portfolio of Banking and Money Movement (BMM). Reporting to the Director of Product Management, Data, you will own and be responsible for driving the product requirements for BMM products to launch on the Data Platform and managing the roadmap. This role will work closely with the BMM product team to manage a shared roadmap. You will also drive the technical implementation with Data Scientists, Platform engineers within Data, and other cross-functional teams at Marqeta.
The mission of the Marqeta Data Team is to empower Marqeta and its customers and partners to do more and succeed by providing them with rich, high-fidelity data, insights, intelligence, and value-added data products enabled by our secure, scalable, reliable, performant, and cost-effective Data Platform.

What You’ll Do
- Lead all aspects of product management and data platform roadmap for Banking and Money movement products
- Collaborate closely with the BMM product and engineering team, as well as other cross-functional teams like settlement controls, finance, legal, and Sales/Customer success to ensure that all functional aspects of product launch readiness are me
- Act as a functional SME in BMM products and articulate the BMM impact from other initiatives in Data and vice versa
- Manage the data platform roadmap to support BMM initiatives and coordinates with other teams on a day-to-day basis (including leading the weekly interlock and prioritization process)
- Document detailed product user stories, analyze data, identify potential solutions, and collaborate with the data team (platform and content) to manage development and delivery
- Manage and triage inbound queries post-sales from customers that come through different channels (Product Support/CSM/Sales/etc.) for any BMM related issues within Data Platform
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of product management experience.
- A strong focus on data analytics and translating rich data insights into products.
- A proven track record of transforming vision into actionable product requirements.
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage and lead cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate clearly to both highly technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven technical acumen: familiarity and continuous curiosity with Data Platforms, SQL, ETL, API, programming languages, and databases.
Nice-To-Haves
- Computer science degree or equivalent, ideally prior hands-on software engineering experience.
- Prior experience in fintech, payments, or banks and understanding these sectors' unique challenges and opportunities.
- Experience in BaaS and money movement.
- Demonstrated experience with Agile Scrum.

Compensation and Benefits
Marqeta is a Flex First company which allows you to choose your best working environment, whether that be from home or at a company office. To support Flex First, we calibrate pay to a competitive value according to working location. Compensation is aligned according to three tiers within the United States:
- National: A baseline tier that applies to most of the geographic territory of the United States.
- Premium: Slightly elevated from the National tier, and oriented toward a narrower set of higher cost-of-living areas, such as Los Angeles CA and Seattle WA
- Premium Plus: A tier for the most expensive working areas, like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City.

When determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location. The new-hire base salary range for this position is:
- National: $103,200 - $137,600
- Premium: $116,100 - $154,800
- Premium Plus: $129,000 - $172,000
