Position Summary: The T&S Scheduling Principal will be responsible for setting up and maintaining schedule best practices and processess, ensuring the teams have the tools necessary to develop project schedules that are accurate, realistic, and aligned with project goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project scheduling, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability work effectively with cross functional teams.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

A reasonable salary range is:

  • Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area) $132,000.00
  • Mid Base Salary (Bay Area) $179,000.00
  • Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area) $226,000.00
  • Minimum Base Salary (California) $125,000.00
  • Mid Base Salary (California) $170,000.00
  • Maximum Base Salary (California) $215,000.00

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain schedule best practices, including schedule development, maintenance, and reporting.
  • Assist in the development of project controls/project management procedures and standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in schedule development and management.
  • Identifies needs, develops ideas, and establishes system requirements for project schedule tools.
  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and delivery of project controls/project management training.
  • Ensure compliance with company and industry standards for schedule development and management.
  • Perform project schedule reviews and participate in project Stage Gate reviews.
  • Applies high level expertise, works independently, and applies breadth and depth of knowledge to the most complex, largest scope and highest impact work planning processes and challenges. May work on both annual and long-term planning issues and projects, analyzing situations with many abstract variables, using a holistic, big picture approach.
  • Works with executives and senior management to support strategic planning, decision making, and to address high level work planning prioritization.
  • Develops appropriate monitoring mechanisms and metrics to understand actuals vs. plan. Assist in the preparation of reports regarding annual and/or long-term work plan/project portfolio completion and issues. Determines causes of issues and recommends solutions. Presents to senior leadership, Director level or higher.
  • May participate in industry benchmarking, seeking ideas and opportunities from other utilities for large scale improvements.
  • Develops, influences, and governs planning processes for multiple major work categories in the assigned department. Solves unique and complex problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions.
  • Develops integrated planning methods and systems that have wide ranging impact and application across multiple departments. Oversees the consolidation of information to develop integrated work plans, project updates, and presentation materials for regular department work plan meetings and leadership teams.

Qualfiications

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, technical field or equivalent related experience
  • 10 years of total related experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) certificates.
  • Project management skills to lead large complex projects.
  • Advanced technical skills using systems and applications such as SAP Work Management, SAP Business Warehouse (BW), Primavera P6, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint to develop reports, analyses, and deliver presentations.
  • Advanced qualitative and quantitative data analysis skills, knowledgeable in collecting data, organizing, synthesizing, reporting, recognizing trending and anomalies, drawing conclusions, and developing recommendations.
  • Subject matter expertise in project/work scheduling concepts, methods, and practices.
