Job Overview

Davies Risk Services is looking for an experienced Regional Director – Loss Control. The ideal professional will be a team player tasked with managing, multiple states’ inventory, a large Independent Contractor (IC) base, and working with and through internal teams. A positive and upbeat perspective is required as well as the ability to keep up with a fast-paced work environment. Reporting to the AVP of Loss Control, you will be expected to maintain and positively grow metrics in their territory.

To be successful in this role, you need to have strong communication skills (phone, email, and systems), ability to facilitate and review travel, work in a time-sensitive environment, and manage relationships both internally and externally to maintain metrics. You must have experience in a fast-paced team environment. Additionally, loss control experience and Quality Assurance experience is a plus. This role is a full-time, home-based position.

Responsibilities and Duties

Independent Contractor’s Manager

  • Develop self-sufficient and engaged ICs
    1. ICs that proactively communicate field issues
    2. Coach and mentor to increase levels of performance
    3. Ability to “weed out” poor performing ICs
    4. Run daily reports to identify trends in quality and timeliness
  • Managing Staff levels
    1. Ability to contract/hire the right person
    2. Follow up/assisting new contractors working with education department
    3. Develop and maintain staffing levels to meet changing demands
    4. Development of ICs that can cover, “as needed”, areas in any event
    5. Recruiting to have backups in place in case of unexpected events or growth
  • Creating Loyalty within your team
    1. Build relationships through professionalism with peers and ICs
    2. Informing ICs of good work
    3. Timely response to IC calls/emails (within 24 business hours)
    4. Giving constructive feedback (criticism) as needed
  • Must be fair and consistent with all ICs
    1. No favoritism – Must treat ICs equally
    2. No out of norm payouts

Proactive Time Service

  • Responsible for Time Service based on Client Expectations
    1. Create strategic solutions, not “Band-Aid” type tactical fixes
    2. Looking ahead and anticipating issues before they arise
    3. Having the solutions in place prior to the issue
  • View Service Level Agreements as minimum standards, go above and beyond to handle any unexpected issues
  • Being proactive versus reactive to time service issues
  • Analyzation of service areas to insure no time service lapses

Product Quality

  • The ability to identify ICs in need of help
    1. Coaching of ICs to increase quality and performance
    2. Follow up on QA Rejections
    3. Taking the initiative to correct quality issues versus being directed
  • Being proactive to quality issues through reports, projections, and reviews
  • Use quality issues as a calibration opportunity to follow up and support ICs
  • Identifying trends in quality as a calibration opportunity

Profitability and Cost Efficiency

  • Improvement of profitability through analyzation of markets/staffing
  • Perform cost analysis to uncover potential cost savings and identify trends
  • Must meet the profitability goals set and strive to go above and beyond
  • Must manage bonus type payouts strategically

Administrative

  • Reporting of “out of norm” Field Issues to your AVP through proactive communication
    1. Be the one that notifies AVP of issues
    2. Don’t wait for them to ask
  • Assisting peers to support the larger company objectives
  • Demonstrate that you are a leader through positive actions that promote the Davies philosophy of doing business

Experience and Qualifications

Required

  • 2 years of experience in a related field or role is required
  • Proficiency in Computer based work
  • The ability to communicate well with others
  • An understanding of process management, IC management, and inventory management
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently

Preferred

  • Degree or Professional Designations (CSP, ARM, AINS, CPCU) are a plus
  • Industry specific experience
  • Previous experience with Excel and other Microsoft Suite software

Position Type, Work Environment and Physical Demands

This is a home-based, full time, salaried, exempt position that predominantly operates remotely from a professional home-based office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and scanners and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer. While performing the duties of this job, the individual will be required to regularly hear and talk. This is a largely sedentary role requiring the ability to sit at a desk, reach outward, use a phone, have use of fingers to operate office equipment such as a keyboard, mouse, phone, printer, copier, and to reach above the head, bend, or stand as necessary.
