Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Director of Therapeutics to join our dynamic telehealth start-up. As the Senior Director of Therapeutics, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our company by leading and executing our early-stage drug discovery and therapeutics development initiatives. Your expertise in drug discovery, with an emphasis on peptides and other similar areas, will be instrumental in helping us develop the next generation of GLP-1 drugs so that we can make them available at a price everyone in America can afford, no matter their insurance coverage.

Who You Are:

• You will build a team of scientists to develop new peptide-based therapeutics in the GLP-1, GIP, PYY, Amylin, and Glucagon agonist categories of peptides.
• You will lead Henry Meds’ internal peptide therapeutics development projects, from drug discovery to Phase-2 clinical trials.
• You will collaborate with internal and external partners in the areas of drug discovery, technology, and biotechnology finance.
• You will represent Henry Meds in research publications and conferences.

Managerial Responsibilities:

• Build: Scope and build the Department of Peptide Therapeutics in collaboration with our People & Talent Team, and the facility itself.
• Grow: Develop and oversee projects in early-stage drug discovery and review potential licensing & acquisition options.
• Lead: Continue to lead your team as you develop the next generation of novel peptide therapeutics.
• You are critical to getting our entire therapeutics department up and running.
• You will oversee your department budget and resource needs in collaboration with our FP&A team.
• You will lead relationships with external partners in the areas of drug discovery & development, CDMOs, and CROs.
• You will help us make the next generation of peptide therapeutics affordable and accessible for every American.

Qualifications:

• Leading expert in peptide drug discovery and drug development supported by a strong record of prior discoveries and/or peer-reviewed publications.
• PhD, MD, DO, DVM or equivalent in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in drug discovery and development, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership role.
• Ability to take a hands-on approach and do lab work alongside your team.
• High EQ and collaboration skills, with an ability to break down complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience starting from zero and building a team and facility from the ground up.
• Documented evidence as an expert in peptide therapeutics development.
