Senior Technical Product Manager – Remote – Canada

We are hiring at InnQuest Software for a Senior Technical Product Manager to join our growing team in North America!

InnQuest Software develops software solutions for independent hotel accommodation providers. With solutions that manage the guest experience from search and book to check-in and check-out, InnQuest Software has been a leading provider of hotel management solutions for more than 25 years. In this role, reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Senior Technical Product Manager is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle. This includes gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. You must be someone who excels at people management, setting direction and priorities, managing processes and monitoring results against key business metrics.

What your day will look like:

  • Define and articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business goals. You'll be the bridge between business aspirations and technological execution
  • Own the product roadmap based on business opportunities, market research and end-user feedback
  • Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product
  • Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders
  • Work closely with architects, engineering, and QA to ensure timely and quality delivery of product features and enhancements
  • Assist development teams with business and technical requirements of features, tasks, and bugs to assist in on-time delivery and meeting client expectations
  • Create feature descriptions to provide guidance to the development team, contribute and approve product-related Business and Technical Requirements documents
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize user stories, epics, and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with the product strategy
  • Provide backlog management, iteration planning and elaboration of user stories
  • Lead the execution of product release plans and set proper expectations for delivery of new functionalities to all stakeholders
  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
  • Articulate complex or technical information in a clear, concise, and structured manner to suit the intended audience
  • Acquire and maintain a deep understanding and knowledge of the hospitality and marine industry to assist with user interface and experience best design practices
  • Manage traceability of business requirements through test plans and cases
  • Conduct peer training for sales and support teams based on business requirements and end-user acceptance testing of all projects and software releases
  • Plan and execute product launches, including managing the beta test process
  • Lead product council meetings to ensure effective communication between the departments
  • Meet with key clients to understand operational needs
  • Undertake additional roles and responsibilities which may be reasonable under this role

About you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering or equivalent business-related discipline required
  • 5+ years of product development experience in a supervisory capacity
  • 10+ years of developing complex software solutions
  • Knowledge of the hospitality industry
  • Strong knowledge/experience with cloud-based technologies and platforms, such as AWS and Azure
  • Strong knowledge/experience with system architecture and design patterns
  • Prior experience with Agile/Scrum development methodology required
  • Proven ability to lead product development teams and deliver quality products
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to manage, lead and motivate employees
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Demonstrates ability to quickly grasp new concepts and integrate them into projects as appropriate and to determine the required action rapidly and effectively in a new situation
  • Excellent balance between technical/development understanding and business intelligence
  • Extensive exposure to in-house, nearshore, and offshore delivery models
  • Ability to interpret and discuss technical information with a non-technical audience
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up sleeves to get the job done
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Experience with Jira/Confluence and Aha! Preferred
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal, is essential
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
