Cloud Engineer – Remote – Spain

About the role: As a Cloud Engineer, you will lead our cloud initiatives and oversee the development, implementation, and management of our cloud infrastructure. The successful candidate will have extensive experience with Azure or/and AWS. This role will involve guiding our cloud strategy, managing cloud services, and leading a team of cloud professionals to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability of our cloud environments.

About the team: The DevOps and Cloud team focuses on integrating software development and IT operations to enhance efficiency and accelerate delivery. The team employs DevOps practices to automate and streamline the software development lifecycle, ensuring continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and faster deployment cycles. Leveraging cloud technologies, they manage scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure, enabling flexible resource management and cost optimisation.

What your day will look like:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive cloud strategy that aligns with the organization’s goals and objectives, focusing on Azure and AWS capabilities as needed.
• Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines for efficient and automated application deployments.
• Monitor and troubleshoot multi-cloud services and infrastructure, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal system performance.
• Collaborate with the development team to optimize application performance, availability, and security.
• Implement and enforce best practices for security, compliance, and data privacy across multi-cloud infrastructure and applications.
• Automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure and AWS services, tools, and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on our infrastructure and operations.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation to enable infrastructure provisioning and management.

About You:

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or a similar role, with a focus on multi-cloud technologies, particularly Azure and AWS.
• Strong understanding of Azure and AWS services, including but not limited to ECS, EC2, EBS, S3, RDS, VPC, Route53, IAM, CloudFront, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, SQS, SES, Lambda, and Azure equivalents.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
• Solid understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and/or ECS.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues in a production environment.
• Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security controls in multi-cloud environments.
• Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert are a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
