Second Front Systems (2F) is seeking a motivated UX Researcher to join our team. We are a fast-growing entrepreneurial team working at the convergence of technology and national security.
As a UX Researcher, you will play a critical role in understanding the needs and behaviors of our users. Your research will inform the design of our developer tools, ensuring that they meet the real-world challenges faced by development teams. You will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and engineers to translate user insights into actionable recommendations.
Note: This position requires U.S. citizenship due to government contract requirements.
What you'll do:
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand user needs, motivations, and pain points related to our developer tools.
- Plan and execute user interviews, surveys, usability tests, and other research methods to gather insights.
- Analyze research findings and synthesize data into clear, actionable recommendations for the design and product teams.
- Create user personas and journey maps to communicate user insights effectively across the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure user research is integrated into the product development process.
- Stay informed about industry trends and user experience best practices to continually improve research methodologies.
- Present research findings and design recommendations to stakeholders, fostering a user-centered culture within the organization.
Skills You’ll Bring to Our Team
- At least three years of experience in user research or related fields, with a focus on B2B or technical products
- Proven experience as a UX Researcher, preferably within SaaS or developer tools environments
- Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods and their application
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights
- Familiarity with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or similar (a plus)
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of presenting findings clearly to diverse audiences
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with product management, design, and engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience conducting user interviews, surveys, usability tests, and other research methods
- Ability to create user personas and journey maps to communicate user insights effectively
- Familiarity with industry trends and user experience best practices
- Have a strong interest in matters of national security
