A day is the life:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and debugging responsive web and mobile applications for the company. Using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, this candidate will be able to translate user and business needs into functional front-end design.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and testing of UI for desktop and responsive websites
  • Oversee the construction of code and reusable libraries for future use
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to more junior developer teams
  • Innovate with emerging technologies to maintain the company's technological edge
  • Collaborate closely with leaders of other teams to ensure the cohesion and quality of integrated solutions

Role Requirements:

  • Extensive experience and deep knowledge in Wordpress, JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, and front-end technologies such as ReactJS, Vue or Angular, NextJS or Nuxt, TypeScript, WebPack, Gulp, SASS.
  • Proven experience in developing themes, plugins and custom extensions for WordPress
  • Experienced in PHP (7+)
  • Proficiency in MySQL
  • Experienced in WooCommerce
  • Knowledge in any PHP Template System (Blade, Twig, Smarty, Mustache, others) (Plus)
  • Experienced in service integrations (Web Services, CMS / Commerce systems, 3rd party APIs, etc.)
  • Knowledge using ACF Plugin
  • Ability to lead development projects and teams
  • Proficiency in design tools like Figma
  • Expert in established development practices, such as code reviews, style guides, and pattern libraries
  • Excellent command of version control (BitBucket / Github)

KPIs:

  • Code Deployment Frequency:
    • Aim for a minimum of bi-weekly deployments of new or updated features, ensuring a steady flow of improvements and maintenance updates
    • Increase deployment frequency by 5% annually to enhance development agility
  • Code Quality Metrics:
    • Maintain a defect rate of less than 1% in new deployments, measured by bugs identified per 1,000 lines of code
    • Achieve at least 95% pass rate on automated tests for all new code before it reaches production
  • Development Efficiency:
    • Reduce the average time from coding start to code completion for new features by 10% per year, aiming for quicker turnaround on development tasks
    • Improve the time-to-resolution for any critical bug fixes to within 24 hours of identification
  • Peer Review Effectiveness:
    • Achieve a target of 90% approval on first-time submissions for code reviews, reflecting high standards in coding practices and peer collaboration
    • Reduce the instances of code rework needed post-peer review by 15% annually
  • Technical Debt Reduction:
    • Identify and refactor at least 10% of legacy code annually to modern standards, reducing technical debt and improving system maintainability
    • Implement systematic documentation updates for every major release to ensure consistency and accessibility of information
