About the Role
Are you passionate about creating unforgettable experiences? Thumbtack is looking for an Employee Experience Events Manager to bring our Future of Work vision to life. You'll lead the planning and execution of events and team offsites, fostering connections among our employees and local communities. You'll manage every aspect of the event lifecycle, from ideation and process management to travel, event production, and programming. Collaborating with our global teams and senior leaders, you'll enhance the overall employee experience and help create lasting memories for our teams and the business. Our events range from intimate gatherings of 10 to large-scale events with 800+ attendees, and you’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support various event needs.
This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Head of Employee Events and requires domestic travel up to twice per quarter, plus an annual international trip to the Philippines. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love creating impactful experiences, we want to hear from you
Responsibilities
- Event Lifecycle Management: Own the entire event lifecycle from ideation to execution, including project planning, coordination of all event logistics, budget management, and post-event reporting.
- Vendor and Partner Relations: Manage relationships with event agencies, vendors, and internal cross-functional partners to ensure seamless event production, across communications, registration, travel, accommodations, FB, programming and more.
- Operational Efficiency: Develop and implement systems and processes to keep EX and events projects organized and on track, proposing new tools and software as needed for operational efficiency.
- Leader Enablement: Partner with leaders to understand their team goals and craft impactful agendas for team offsites, providing comprehensive logistics support throughout the planning process and creating valuable resources/guides to empower leaders.
- Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for managing all customer support forums and channels, providing exceptional support to our employees.
- Global Collaboration: Collaborate with and support our Philippines team in planning and executing PH and global events, ensuring alignment and successful onsite execution.
What you’ll need
If you don't think you meet all of the criteria below but still are interested in the job, please apply. Nobody checks every box, and we're looking for someone excited to join the team.
- Industry Experience: Over 10 years of professional experience, preferably in people programs and employee experience, with at least 7 years of in-house or agency experience in managing and producing large and small scale events (30-800+ people).
- Operational Prowess: A master multi-tasker who thrives in fast-paced environments, juggling multiple priorities and a busy events calendar with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Collaboration: Strong ability to partner cross-functionally with senior leaders, stakeholders, and employees at all levels to identify business needs from in-person gatherings and incorporate feedback effectively.
- Communication: Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills, both spoken and written. You have a talent for writing event communications and Slack messages that are informative, fun, and engaging.
- Own-It Mentality: You possess an owner mentality but aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves. You're ready to execute events onsite with a can-do attitude and a customer-service mindset.
Bonus points if you have
- Tech Industry Background: Experience working in a fast-paced or high-growth tech company with regionally and globally distributed teams. Bonus points for experience collaborating with teams in the Philippines.
- Employee Event Curation: Experience in curating large-scale employee events, rather than just marketing, sales events, or trade conferences.
- Tool Familiarity: Familiarity with tools and systems such as Slack, Coupa, IronClad, Google Forms, and event management software.
- Multimedia Proficiency: Skilled in using multimedia to create engaging content, including video and graphics.
