About the Role

Our client is seeking a freelance animator skilled in both 2D and 3D animation techniques to create a music video. This is a single project with the potential for follow-up work, requiring a mid-level to senior level of experience. The project delivery date is currently undetermined. The animator can work remotely and is not required to be on-site.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the music producer to understand the creative vision and desired style for the music video.
• Conceptualize and develop a storyboard or animatic that aligns with the music and brings the video concept to life.
• Create character designs, backgrounds, and other visual elements using both 2D and 3D animation techniques as required.
• Animate the characters and scenes, ensuring smooth and fluid movements that complement the music.
• Incorporate visual effects, motion graphics, and other special elements to enhance the overall aesthetic and impact of the animation.

Requirements

• Mid-level to senior-level experience in animation, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in both 2D and 3D animation techniques.
• Proficiency in industry-standard animation software such as Adobe Animate, Toon Boom Harmony, Blender, Maya, or similar tools.
• Strong skills in character design, rigging, and animation principles (timing, staging, squash and stretch, etc.).
• Knowledge of compositing, visual effects, and motion graphics to enhance the overall animation.
